Once upon a dark time…

Greta the human bounty hunter never quite fit into the shadowed, icy world of Mylena. Yet she's managed to defeat the demon Agramon and win the love of the darkly intense Goblin King, Isaac. Now Isaac wants her to rule by his side—a human queen. And the very announcement is enough to incite rebellion…

To make matters worse, defeating Agramon left Greta tainted with a dark magick. Its unclean power threatens to destroy her and everything she loves. With the Goblin King's life and the very peace of Mylena at stake, Greta must find a cure and fast.

Her only hope lies with the strange, elusive faeries in the Glass Kingdom…if she can get there before the evil within her destroys everything.

Linda's Thoughts:
Isaac: "Visiting the provinces has made me realize it's far past time I make it clear to one and all that my heart is claimed and my commitment to you is true."

Greta: She’d finally realized how rare and special what they’d started together was. No king and queen anywhere were going to be as good together as they would be. She was finally going to prove that not only was she good enough for Isaac and good enough to stay in Mylena, she was good enough to rule Mylena.

GRETA AND THE GLASS KINGDOM by Chloe Jacobs is a fabulous addition to Chloe's Mylena Chronicles series! I had read and loved GRETA AND THE GOBLIN KING, the first book in the series, when it released back in December 2012. I've been dying to return to Mylena since and was beyond excited when I saw that the next book was soon to be released. The wait was sooooo worth it as I was not disappointed in the least! GRETA AND THE GLASS KINGDOM is as good if not better than GRETA AND THE GOBLIN KING. My only complaint - and it's a small one - is that since it had been so long, it took me a little time to catch up with the world and characters of Mylena. However, everything started falling in place after the first couple of chapters and I could only hold on while Chloe took me on another wild ride! Oh my! It was GOOD!

In my opinion, this series really needs to be read in order! GRETA AND THE GLASS KINGDOM does not work well as a standalone. However, that's not a bad thing as both books in this series have been fantastic!

GRETA AND THE GLASS KINGDOM picks up right where the first book ended. Greta defeated Agramon, the big bad demon in the first book and is finally with Isaac but that does not spell the end of their troubles. The rag-tag human children are missing. Mylena remains in the grips of an endless winter which the people of Mylena blame on humans - which means that they are prejudiced against Greta from the get-go. Isaac wants her as his Queen, but it's unlikely that the people will ever accept her. The three kingdoms of Mylena aren't peace loving so Isaac has to continually watch his back. Finally, even though Greta defeated Agramon, she absorbed some of the demon's black magic taint in the struggle. It's getting harder and harder each day to fight the darkness as it tries to overtake her. When the Fae claim that their Queen can help rid her of Agramon's darkness, Greta journeys to the Fae's Glass Kingdom seeking their help. But... will she get there in time AND can she trust the Fae?

There's still a bit of a triangle with Wyatt. Wyatt is a sweet guy, but he doesn't hold a candle to sweet and sexy Isaac for me. Isaac is nothing short of amazing. He's even more of a sweetheart in this book than the last (How can that be possible?). I'm definitely Team Isaac all the way! AND Greta! She's a great heroine. She shows her mettle again in a BIG way. She's strong, fierce, caring, devoted and true.

Following please find just a few of my favorite quotes. Since there were so many, I picked the ones that made me swoon the most. You need to read the book to find bunches more!:

“I'd prefer that you never let me go," he said, suddenly serious. "But if you must, know that because of you I will never truly be Lost. You can always call me back.”
---

"Please, Isaac. I just want..."
"What wishes do you make of me now?" His voice was a low murmur that teased the wispy strands at her temple until she felt the hesitant press of his lips. "I'll grant every one."
---

"Come on, you know you want to get some alone time with me."
"I know how fond you are of ravishing me in closets," he whispered with a grin.
She shook her head. "One time...and you're never going to let me forget it, are you?"
"But when I do get you alone again, I don't want to be rushed."
The Great Mother save her, that sounded hot.
---

Whenever you are crying, I will hold you. Whatever you are doing, I'll defend you....
Wherever you are hiding, I'll find you. However you are hurting, I'll comfort you. Wherever you are, nearby or far, I'll follow the stars just to be with you.

Chloe's writing is pure magic! Her world of Mylena and the characters and creatures that reside there are incredible! Expect to be blitzed with loads of surprises, twists and turns, heartbreak and unexpected betrayals. This is one fast-paced, action-packed fantasy! Hold on to your seat as there's truly not a single dull moment. Unfortunately, there's another cliff-hanger ending. Please, please tell me that the third book won't be released for another two years as I need it now! I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys epic YA fantasies!
