About the Book

Savage Love
Love Like This
by Cassia Leo

Format: 475 pages
Published: May 25, 2021 by Gloss Publishing LLC
When I walked into the bar across from the hospital, all I wanted was a drink to help me forget the worst day of my life. What I got was sexy, mysterious Jake Maxwell and the most amazing one-night stand of my life.

Months later, he seeks me out with an unconventional offer: He’d like to take me and my dog for a walk.

My lazy dog could use the exercise, and I could use something to distract me from the pain of my sister’s death. Jake’s bad puns, gorgeous smile, and protective nature turn out to be the perfect medicine for my injured soul.

But just like the day we met, that one date turns into so much more. And as Jake and I grow closer, it becomes difficult to separate his pain from my own.

All I want is to share the burden of his secret. But some truths are too savage to be spoken.

Making Your Story Believable with Kat Martin of Come Midnight

Over the years, I’ve found one of the best ways to make your story believable is to use real places to locate the action and real names of restaurants and streets.  Actually going there, of course, is the best way to make that happen.

In my new novella, COME MIDNIGHT, Breanna Winters, seated on an airliner next to a good-looking man in an expensive suit, finds herself kidnapped by Honduran terrorists.  She doesn’t expect Derek Stiles, a corporate executive, to put his life at risk by volunteering to go along when Bree is dragged from the plane and marched into the jungle.

Fausterella: Or, How to Mash Up Two Very Different Things with J.J.A. Harwood of The Shadow in the Glass

Fausterella: Or, How to Mash Up Two Very Different Things

There’ll always be a special place in my heart for mash-ups. I love seeing the threads of two different stories come together to make something new, even if it seems like they won’t fit at first glance. It’s like pineapple on pizza (which is nice, don’t fight me) – both of the individual components have a slightly different flavour when you put them together.

But some mash-ups are more daunting than others. When I first had the idea for my debut novel, The Shadow in the Glass, I knew exactly what I wanted it to be: a cross between Doctor Faustus and Cinderella. This seemed like a great idea and I was very pleased with myself for a whole five minutes – but then I realised that I was actually going to have to make these two very different stories fit together.

Format: Audiobook 10 hrs, 28 min

Released April 27th, 2021 by Recorded Books

We’ve colonized Mars, but we never should’ve come back.

When the first astronauts of the Mars Colony returned to Earth, they brought a mysterious, metal box they had found half-buried in the red dirt, called the Mars Cube. The scientists assigned to uncover its secrets tested it, scanned it, tried to blow it up, and everything in between. Then they accidentally opened it.

Biosafety level-4 laboratories, BSL4, hold the most deadly viruses on the Earth, and Juliet handled them daily. Her research at the CDC landed her a position on the Mars Cube Investigative Team in the world’s only BSL-5 lab. The only drawback: Her ex was one of the astronauts that brought back the Cube.

What was held inside the Cube shouldn’t have gotten out. It shouldn’t have ever been exposed to our planet because the Mars Strain is now loose and killing at a 100 percent mortality rate. Juliet is fighting for our very existence, Jake is working with the Mars Colonists to decipher the Cube’s holographic message for a clue, and someone wants to take over the Mars Program for themselves. They’re all watching the clock, and it's about to run out.

#Interview with Glynis Peters of The Forgotten Orphan

Love, second chances, and resilience. Three things that have described humans for centuries, yet our thirst for these stories doesn’t fade. Which is why we’re so excited to welcome our guest for the day, Glynis Peters!

Thank you for inviting me along, it’s great to join you.

THE FORGOTTEN ORPHAN is your third World War II novel. They could be considered a series as each book centers around orphans, yet each book has its own cast of characters. Was your research different for your newest release?

The Secret Orphan is based around the Coventry Blitz, which meant I’d already enough research under my belt for the second book The Orphan Thief. Whereas my third, The Forgotten Orphan is set in Southampton. The Juno Beach battle and the introduction of a sailor to my last book, meant I had to look deeper into the British Naval situation during the war. I also needed to find out what happened when the injured military forces arrived back at Southampton docks. Also, the orphanage in my book actually existed but under a different name. I researched it quite heavily and was delighted when I received two emails from former residents, who said they recognized what was once their home. This made me feel the extra hours spent on research were worth it. I also had to research more about the area I chose in Canada to end the book, and again an email from a lady who leaves near the area wrote to me and recognized the place, so that was a ‘phew’ moment as I’d never been!

The Difference Between Being a Ghostwriter and Writing for Yourself with Loren Stephens of All Sorrows Can Be Borne + #Giveaway

The Difference Between Being a Ghostwriter and Writing for Yourself....

The first time I served as a ghostwriter was for my mother.  I was fascinated by her life story – she was an opera singer, an art collector (pre-Columbian artifacts and post-Impressionist paintings were her drugs of choice); a docent at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City; a member of the Society of Women Geographers; fluent in three languages and an all-around Manhattan grande dame whose life spanned almost the entire twentieth century.  She was cultured, had a wicked sense of humor which she embedded into puns and limericks, and did not suffer fools.  She wasn’t always easy, but she was always interesting and gathered a wide circle of friends into her orbit. Motherhood was a struggle for her because she had so many interests outside the home and often felt stifled by the demands of two daughters and a patient husband, who died much too young at the age of 52.

When I proposed writing her memoir, she was at first reluctant as in “Who would be interested?” but over time she committed to the project and took to it like a duck to water.  I interviewed her and taped the interviews which were conducted over a year’s time, toggling back and forth from Los Angeles to Manhattan or wherever she happened to be. (I still have the tapes but haven’t had the courage to listen to them.)  Once when I accidentally taped over an interview, I timidly told her what happened, and waving her hand she said, “Don’t worry,” and repeated the story – perhaps not verbatim but close enough.

by Terry Spear

Format: Mass Market Paperback

ISBN: 9781728228785

Until a movie being filmed at Enrick's castle results in an enemy clan bent on revenge, and Enrick is tasked with keeping his longtime packmate Heather MacNeil safe.
