Texas Tornado by Lani Lynn Vale (Interview/Giveaway)

Our guest today writes the erotic contemporary romance series Freebirds, and is crazy busy with said series and life in general. Welcome Lani Lynn Vale!

Thank you, ladies!  I’m glad to be here!!  And you could probably say busy about five more times!!

Lexi: Talk about back to back releases! When you said you just decided to write Boomtown’s  story you certainly did just that. Book five, Texas Tornado, is releasing on July 31st but you just released book four, Last Day of My Life, on July 1st. Do you have the entire series written and just waiting for each release day to come?

Yes ma’am.  I’ve had the last two books in the series written for about four or five months now.  Right now, I have two stories in my next series mostly written as well.  I’m just tweaking a few things in them before I send them on to the editor.

Why, you ask am I waiting?  Come August, I’m about to start nursing school, and things will slow down for me.  Considerably.   So I wanted to have a couple of books waiting in the wings so it doesn’t look like I just left the building all together.

Lexi: Has each release day been as exciting as the last? I think I might get an ulcer with your schedule. Do you watch your numbers on release day?

Pushing that publish button makes my stomach turn.  I always hope that they’ll love the book.
Yes, I do watch.  It makes me happy to see the change.

Lexi: Last Day of My Life has received some great reviews so far, do you ever feel pressure to top the last book’s success with readers? It sounds like James’s story, which we will get in Texas Tornado is much anticipated.

Yes!  I recently had my mom read one of my unedited books that I wrote, and she was like...It was no Last Day of My Life, but I still liked it.  Then I started worrying about everyone else comparing them.  If my mom didn’t like it as much, what would my readers think?
However, that’s part of writing, and I hope that I can keep producing books that my readers will love, and forgive me if another book is better.

Lexi: In Texas Tornado you have a man with a daughter as the hero. Do you feel having a daughter has made James better prepared for the woman that will be his, Shiloh?

Absolutely!  Having kids changes a person.  No longer are they the party boys (Or at least they shouldn’t be!)  When you have a child, you make a commitment to that child for the rest of their lives.  James knows what is important in life, and that’s family.  That’s his little girl.

And when Shiloh enters his life, she’s brought into that fold, too.

Lexi: Each story in your Freebirds series is packed with emotions, your readers laugh and cry with your characters. If a reader were to begin your series with any of the five books, yes you adamant series in-order readers this may make you cringe, which one would you suggest?

In all honesty, it should be James.  He was there when the series took it’s beginning.  The death of the one person that started it all.  So many things fall into place with James’ book that it’ll be like one of those ‘ah-hah!’ moments once you finally get the full story.  Although there’d be a ton of spoilers!!!!

Lexi: Thanks for stopping by again Lani! It is always nice to have you at the blog and especially when we can get some details about your Freebirds heros! Congrats on your most recent release, and now we will let you get back to your crazy hectic schedule!

Thank you for having me!!
