A temporary agreement neither could keep…

Brainy, organized Sophie Birch is no beach bunny. In fact, she’s totally out of her element among the sun-bronzed crowd at a film festival in beautiful White Strand Cove. When a surf lesson introduces her to Zane Hollander, suddenly she's up close and personal with the world's sexiest surf star. But what can a great-looking, experienced athlete possibly see in a klutzy out-of-towner who’s never set foot in the ocean?

Zane Hollander's playboy reputation has never been a problem…until recently. Now his management team wants him on his best behavior to entice a meaningful new sponsor. Sophie Birch is the perfect girl to help reform his image. She's genuine and respected—and their relationship is purely fictional. But the more Sophie blooms under the beachy sun, the more Zane knows he'll just break her heart. Because nothing's more important to Zane than following the tide.

Thoughts:
Zane Hollander stood in profile a few feet away.  Sophie's breath caught.  Up close, he looked like he'd been carved from the most glorious, most gorgeous stone on the planet.  His blond hair was straight, on the longer side and sticking up in GQ messiness.  Square jaw, high cheekbones, perfect nose.  Then he turned and pierced her with ice-blue eyes that knocked her off-balance.

Literally.

She tripped over her own feet and face-planted right into the sand.

KEEPING MR. RIGHT NOW by Robin Bielman is a sweet and sizzling contemporary romance.  It was solely responsible for my book hangover the following morning as I stayed up past 3am finishing it;  I also wore a silly smile through-out the next day because this book gave me a major case of the warm fuzzies, a known-to-be-common affliction from reading Robin's books.  :-)   KEEPING MR. RIGHT NOW is the spicy story of opposites Zane Hollander and Sophie Birch.  I fell in love with both of them!

Zane Hollander, our hero aka Mr. Right Now, is at the top of his game.  He's the surfing world's god, supremely talented and popular with both his competition and his fans.  He is "Hot.  Gorgeous.  Sexy.  To die for.  Take your pick."  He has a reputation as being a womanizer and has previously been caught in some compromising situations.  He is not into entanglements; one night stands have been his style.  Now Zane wants badly to be the ambassador for the Surf Help Exchange (SHE), the largest nonprofit organization promoting humanitarian, clean water, and natural healing efforts across the globe.  He is strongly supportive of their goals.  Understandably, SHE cannot afford to be aligned with someone who may bring untoward attention to the organization with their playboy antics.  So Zane has vowed to change his tune.

Sophie Birch, our heroine, is a young, brainy, clumsy event organizer from Montana.  When she graduated from college, she worked in research until she decided that she would rather work to make people happy so she changed careers.  Now, her company is in charge of coordinating events surrounding a surfing week;  Her boss is out of commission thrusting Sophie into the position in her stead.  It's Sophie's first time out of Montana.   She has vowed to: Live a little...Try new things... and Don't be a wimp...  When Sophie's first time in the ocean doesn't work out as expected, she becomes the ideal candidate to help Zane improve his image.

I really enjoyed watching Sophie come out of her "ugly duckling" shell.  She went from solely wearing black and blue business attire to colorful slinky outfits that complimented her figure and personality.  Zane was captivated by Sophie's intelligence, innocence and truthfulness - traits he'd never experienced with the beach bunnies he normally socialized with.   Zane had left home before he finished high school after having an argument with his Dad, leaving him with low self-esteem.   Zane was actually a sweetheart; he just didn't believe that he either deserved or wanted other than a quickie relationship.

I had so many favorite scenes in this book!  Each turn of the page rendered another treat!  My very favorite scene occurred in Montana with Zane carrying a surf board.  Yes... you read that right.  Zane was carrying a surf board in Montana.   It adds up to a perfect scene -  a keeper that I won't soon forget.

Another favorite scene occurred during the couple's first real sexual encounter when Zane was a tad talkative ...

"Zane," she moaned.  "Please touch me."
"I will.  I'm going to touch every inch of you until I know what makes you sigh and what makes you giggle and what makes you beg me to never stop.  I'm going to make you shudder and scream so that long after tonight you'll remember the feel of my hands and exactly where they were on your body."
"I'm going to die if you don't get on with it.'

LOL!  I'd like to share just a few more favorite quotes illustrating the sexiness and humor in this book:

She maneuvered onto the board, getting into position on her stomach just like he'd taught, and tried not to freak out.  She never should have watched Shark Week last year.
---
"You're nervous around me.  I don't bite."  He turned his head and swept a gaze over her that went from head to toe and back again.  "Unless you like that sort of thing."
---
"Do you ever go out there when it's like this?" she said softly.  "When it's almost dark and there's no one else in the water?"
"I do.  It's nice being alone out there."
"It doesn't make you feel lonely?"
"The ocean is a great companion."
---
There was no place else she'd rather be than slow-dancing on a beach with the sexiest, sweetest, most attentive man she'd ever been with.
---
His mouth opened, nudging her lips apart, and she let him in.  He tangled his tongue with hers and made it impossible for her to breathe without him.
The kiss took turns at tender, hot, relentless.  She loved them all.  She could kiss him all night, the passion and intensity always there -- in her mind, her body, her heart.  This was the kind of first kiss she'd dreamed about.,,,
She knew he'd just wiped out every other kiss she'd had.  Knew deep down in her soul that no one would ever compare to Zane.
Her Mr. Right Now.

Robin writes the most wonderful HEAs... and this book is no exception.  Her writing is first class, as always.  I could hear the waves as it placed me right there on that sandy beach with the characters as I read.  The characters are well-developed, genuine and likeable.  Even the secondary characters shined;  I'd love to see Robin give some of them their own happy ever afters.  The plot is well-crafted and utterly paradisiacal. The heat level was higher than in most of Robin's books;  some of the pages were smokin' from the sizzling chemistry the twosome generated.

You will want to read this in one sitting.  I highly recommend KEEPING MR. RIGHT NOW to anyone who enjoys a funny, cute, and sexy romance.  IF you like beach reads, it's a superb choice!

I've Been ZANED and I bet you will be too!
