Their love was ancient history...until their paths crossed again.

Samantha Bennett put Dean Malloy out of her mind five years ago, when he broke her heart after a summer fling. But now he's back in her life, and ready to steal a heritage protection contract that could make or break her career--if he doesn't steal her heart first. Samantha's vowed to hate him, but it's more than anger heating the competition between them.

With sparks flying across the conference table and sizzling in every touch, Dean proposes a weekend liaison. Anything to have Sam again; anything to get her out of his system. But the unresolved feelings between them complicate both their personal and professional lives, and one wild weekend could turn into a disaster that would destroy the one job that means more to Samantha than anything. For a shot at love...is it worth the risk?

Thoughts:

I am a huge fan of Robin Bielman's contemporary romances and she has never once disappointed me.  Worth the Risk is the first novel in her Take a Risk series and relatively short at only 160 pages.  The Take a Risk series is racier than her other books with yummy sex scenes.  It's a perfect read for a sultry summer afternoon.

The main storyline is of a couple who had a summer romance five years before, meet again, and renew their relationship.   The chemistry between Samantha and Dean is wonderful in and out of bed.  Dean is totally SWOON-worthy!  Since this was a second chance romance and Samantha and Dean had known each other intimately previously, it didn’t seem strange at all that their relationship escalated so quickly upon meeting again. Their hot sauce game  and their slipping and sliding shower scene were my favorite sexy parts!  When Dean said "Darlin', I do some of my best work on my ass", I laughed and then promptly melted into the floor.

I thought the secondary plot which focused on a competition to win a contract to rehab and restore famous Route 66 was refreshing and original.   As an interesting side that struck a chord with me, there really is a World Monuments Fund that is dedicated to the preservation of historic architecture and cultural heritage sites.

Robin's writing, word building and character development, as always, are first rate.  If you are looking for a book with romance, humor, smokin'-hot chemistry and a happy ever after that will plant a huge smile on your face, look no further than Worth the Risk!
