The madman and the nightmare…

Vincent Blackman is a little…unhinged. He recently fought a nightmare from the world Darkside and won. Now he fears nothing and wants revenge on the man who had his father brutally murdered. And how convenient to find an ally in Mirren Lambert, his enemy’s gorgeous and sexy daughter. Unfortunately, she’s made a few enemies of her own.

She might be a nightmare, but she’s also his ultimate fantasy.

Mirren was born half human, half nightmare. She was on the run from her ruthless father, but when he abducted her young son, she knew he had to be stopped once and for all. Dangerous Vincent is just who she needs to help her, though she has a perilous part to play as well, infiltrating her father’s circles to discover his secrets. They learn something dark is stirring in the dreamwaters, and it’s reaching toward the waking world. Vincent might be holding on to the last of his sanity, but that’s okay, as long as he holds on even tighter to her.

Bring Me A Dream is the fifth installment in the Reveler serial, a hot paranormal romance set in a world where shared dreaming is a new pop culture phenomenon that allows people to indulge their wildest fantasies. But there are also unknown dangers Darkside; nightmares are slowly infiltrating not only dreams, but the waking world as well. And behind them all is a shadowy entity called the Sandman.

Revel with me.

Linda's Thoughts:
Tonight was about fathers. Vince was going to kill hers for murdering his.

BRING ME A DREAM by Erin Kellison is the fifth installment in Erin's Reveler series. I'm really enjoying my return to it. A year ago, I read books one thru three in the series and I've not been able to forget the story or the characters so this past weekend, I binge-read books four through seven. Oh my! The stories are still as obsession-inducing as they were a year ago. This is an original, dark, intense, fast-paced series set in a complicated, futuristic world. Each installment is novella-length and there's always a cliffhanger at the end that will knock you for a loop and make you crave the next book right then.

I would highly recommend that these novellas be read in order as there is a rather involved continuing storyline and interconnected characters who figure prominently in each book. Each of the books begins where the book before left off. At the very least, the first book, DARKNESS FALLS, should be a required prerequisite as it contains essential background information about Reves, i.e., shared dreamscapes, and introduces many of the characters.

Mirren, Lambert's daughter, and Vincent, madman-at-large, take center stage in this tale. They have each taken a turn at being a villain in prior books, but we find out now that they're really not evil after all is said and done. Vincent is on a mission to take out Mirren's father, who had previously been responsible for Vincent's father's death. Mirren is no fan of her father's either as he had kidnapped her son and killed her son's father - but, despite all that, she can't help but have a few second thoughts, as he is her father. All Mirren has ever wanted is a man to care about her and stand up to her father - maniacal Vincent certainly fits the bill. I liked both of these characters; but it may take a few more books for me to become attached to them.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes:

They moved as a unit, a first for her. The madman and the nightmare.
---

"...now the whole fucking world is different."
"It's about to get worse," Steve said.
"Then I'll call for food," Vincent said. "Mirren, this might be our last meal. Any preferences?"
---

She glanced again toward Vincent. "And who is he again?"
Vincent grinned. "I'm Vincent Blackman of the SpiderSly Company. Mirren and I are going to sleep together; we just have to get through this bullshit of her father's first."

BRING ME A DREAM is a short, quick read and an intriguing addition to this addictive series. I don't want to forget to mention the off-the-wall humor either. Each of these books has had its humorous moments. This series just keeps getting better and better! I highly recommend this series to fans of paranormal urban fantasy! Just know that once you start it, you won't be able to stop thinking about it!
