Dreaming turns dangerous...

Malcolm Rook and Jordan Lane are on the run from powerful forces that seek their deaths. But they are discovered by someone from Rook's dark past. Under no circumstances will Rook allow this criminal to learn how talented Jordan is in the world Darkside. Instead, Rook succumbs so that she has a chance to survive.

Rook has been abducted and Jordan assumes the worst. She's fallen for him and will do anything to get him back. Alone on the streets, she concocts a plan that will take her into the black market of dreams to find help. An unlikely ally comes to her aid, and together they search and fight...one for love, the other for vengeance.

Night's Deep Hush is the fourth installment in the Reveler serial, a hot paranormal romance set in a world where shared dreaming is a new pop culture phenomenon that allows people to indulge their wildest fantasies. But there are also unknown dangers Darkside; nightmares are slowly infiltrating not only dreams, but the waking world as well.

Revel with me.

Linda's Thoughts:
The nightmare was shaped like a goddess - a beauty with a body curved to incite reckless sinning. She wore an angry pout that he knew would burn his mouth. She had hair like snow and eyes as cold and fathomless as the deepest reaches of space. How like a nightmare to seduce and terrify at the same time.

NIGHT'S DEEP HUSH by Erin Kellison is the fourth installment in Erin's Reveler series. I would highly recommend that these novellas be read in order as there is a rather involved continuing storyline and interconnected characters who figure prominently in each book. Each of the books begins where the book before left off. At the very least, the first book, DARKNESS FALLS, should be a required prerequisite as it contains essential background information about Reves, i.e., shared dreamscapes, and introduces many of the characters. I actually read the first three books a year ago and haven't stopped thinking about them. It was really good to return to this series. I binged on it this weekend, reading books  four through seven.

Rook and Jordan take center stage again in this installment. I really like Rook and Jordan - they are so good together - so this was a really good book to herald my return to the series. As the story begins, they're on the run from Chimera and Lambert. Rook is kidnapped by an old acquaintance while Jordan steps out to grab them something to eat. Rook is presented with a tracking job he can't refuse since the search involves a missing child. However, the person ultimately pulling his strings isn't exactly ethical. Jordan discovers that Rook has been kidnapped through another acquaintance who didn't exactly make a great impression the first time. Naturally, there are twists and turns galore.
Following please find a few of my favorite quotes:

Laughter gurgled up from inside her. She'd just mugged a mugger. Look out, world.
---

"Kiss me good."
Jordan went on tiptoe and kissed him with everything she had. His mouth mashed against hers just as greedily, tongues tangling, hearts beating wildly against each other. The embrace of his arms tightened, and he lifted her. She didn't need a stupid floor with him near. Together they could fly.

NIGHT'S DEEP HUSH is an intense short, quick read and a very good fast-paced addition to the series. This is a series set in a darkly complicated futuristic world with a plethora of originality. Erin's imagination continues to astound me. As with all the books, there's a cliffhanger ending that will blow you away and make you want the next book right then. Thank goodness, the next book is available now! I highly recommend this series to fans of paranormal urban fantasy!
