Juliette Jauntie is only scared of one thing—living. She's made some mistakes in her past--reckless, impulsive mistakes--but she fought back and now she’s a caffeine-fuelled workaholic who'll stop at nothing to succeed. She can handle anything Johnny Danger, her biggest competition, throws her way. Crushing workload: check. Insane deadline: no problem.
Johnny's sensual allure: big problem.
And Working Late...
Former Ranger, Johnny is ruthlessly devoted to Danger Enterprises, the company he's built from the ground up, his personal triumph over a brutal start in life. So when Juliette Jauntie blows into his world, with her amped-up energy and furrowed brow and red-painted toenails, and starts asking questions that piss off a lot of wealthy people and threaten the empire he's built, Johnny knows he needs to stay focused.
Pin her down, get some answers, and walk away.
...Has Never Been So Sexy
But when their sexy showdown blows the lid off an scorching passion and uncovers a shocking crime that's been hiding in plain sight, the trouble mounts and the stakes skyrocket, and Johnny knows he's in big trouble.
Because with Juliette in the mix, he might lose more than his business. He might lose his heart.
Outside the Lines started out reminding me somewhat of myself, with attitude. ...Looking at Johnny and thinking you are nuts for wanting me to look at these files and get them done by Monday... I can relate with deadlines, and they are not my favorite thing, but they also push me like they pushed Juliette. As I read further into the book I felt that Juliette was the nerdy number punching girl, yet she had a hidden sexy side to her. And Johnny was just plain out HOT and SEXY!!!
This was my first first-person POV read, but it was very nicely written and flowed easily. When it came to the hot, steamy scenes the author wrote them in a tactful way that was different then what I have found in other books in this genre.
When I was reading Outside the Lines I felt that Johnny had sought Juliette out for a second opinion for the case that he was working on, so his hidden attraction for her was a nice surprise. The story really heats up when the chase between Johnny and Juliette starts. The attraction is intense, yet they try to fight it until they can no longer deny it. I also enjoyed Juliette's attitude and spunk, she gave as good as she got, which reminded me so much of myself. Did I mention I like reading books that I can relate too?
I really enjoyed Outside the Lines and I'm looking forward to reading more from author Bella Love!
