Tour: Getting Ahead by Emily Cale (Guest Post)

Please give a warm welcome to erotica and erotic romance author, Emily Cale!

Writing with Wine

Given that my post today is on Reading Between the Wines, I thought I'd talk about wine. If you follow me on Twitter, you've probably heard me mention my love of wine one or two hundred times. I'm a strong believer in having a glass in the evening to help melt away the stress of the day. Nothing else is as helpful in making sure I can forget about the looming to-do list at my day job and focus on my writing instead. So I thought I'd talk about some of my favorite varieties.
Moscato: I discovered this sweet white by accident in the store one day. Now I hear about it from everyone. It's the perfect fun and flirty wine that I buy for girl's night or for writing happy scenes.
Pinot Noir: I have to admit that it took me a long time to start liking red wine. I'll still pick a white over a red most days of the week, but I've found myself more and more drawn toward this specific red. It goes well with the dark chocolate that I usually eat a pound of during revisions. Even though it isn't sweet, it always reminds me of dessert.
Sauvignon Blanc: This is my all time favorite variety of wine. When I first started drinking, this was always my standby at the liquor store. It is a nice not-too-dry white wine that I tend to drink a lot when writing. It pairs well with just about any scene and it works for the parties I throw too.

Your turn. What's your favorite wine? Anything I should definitely pick up on my next outing?

Colton is exactly the kind of distraction Amber doesn't want, but he might be exactly what she needs to get back on track.Recovering from a bad fall during competition, Amber McDonald decides to spend her last week of training before her next rodeo at a Colorado ranch, away from any and all distractions. It'd be the perfect arrangement—if only her fear wasn't stopping her from getting back on her horse. Then Colt Riley steps in. He's sexy and seems to have incredible insight into her situation, but he's everything she's been trying to stay away from.Colt knows exactly what Amber is going through...because he's been there before. Forced to give up his riding career after an accident, he sets his mind to helping her get back on track. All that's easier said than done, especially when she discovers his hidden past. Will his efforts be enough to help her get ahead?

  1. I have to say that I am not a wine drinker. I don't understand why everyone loves it. To me, it taste like... I can't even think of a word to describe it. I'd rather have a beer or a mixed drink. This book sounds amazing. Can't wait to read it.

  2. If you like the sweetness of Moscato then you should give Riesling a try. Sweet but different!
