Character Love Letters: Nixon from Rachel Van Dyken's Eagle Elite Series and EMBER (#Giveaway)

Valentine's Day may be over but we're still celebrating the month of love! We return again this Saturday with our Character Love Letter event! If you're a follower of this blog then you have probably picked up on the fact that we're huge fans of Rachel Van Dyken's new adult romance mafia series, Eagle Elite, and the epic love story between Nixon and Trace.  Even though Rachel has a new release in the series featuring Phoenix - Can he find redemption? - in EMBER (<~Click for Review), she is sharing with us today a pretty apropos love letter from Nixon to Trace. Enjoy!

Trace...

You know it's hard for me to say what I'm feeling...so I thought maybe...to celebrate our anniversary I'd write you a letter.

I started with a poem and was later informed by Chase that it sounded like a five year old got a sugar high and just blurted out happy words then signed his name in red crayon, for the record I sign my name better than a five year old, but whatever...

So here goes.

I love you.
The end.

I know, pretty epic right? Sometimes I think less is more. I could spout off all the reasons, but it would take years, decades, an entire lifetime. I could cut myself, let the blood drip down my arm and show you that my blood is yours, that my heart is yours, but last time I got shot you got pissed..

I could easily explain to you why you're unique, why you're incredible, why you're beautiful, how the sun always seems to shine in your eyes.
But then I'd start writing poetry and we'd be back at square one.

I guess what I'm trying to say in the most simplest yet to someone like me, deepest most meaningful words I can find is...

I love you.
With all my heart.
My soul.
My everything.

---Nixon

Series: Eagle Elite #5
Author: Rachel Van Dyken

I am a Killer. A Rapist. A Monster.
I know only pain and survival.
That is until the Cappo's sister walked into my life. And changed everything.

She's a light who makes my darkness darker, her smile makes my heart turn to ice, and I can't escape the fear her seductive looks instill--knowing it's only a matter of time before I fail--again, and take her for myself.
This is the story of my redemption.
But it's not pretty...I died, and now I'm alive, but not living, breathing but not surviving. I am Phoenix De Lange, son to a murdered mob boss, estranged brother, horrible friend, monster in the making, newest leader to one of the most powerful families in the Cosa Nostra.
And I will have my vengeance.
Or die trying.
I am Phoenix De Lange.
Death is all I know.
Until she offers me a piece of life--I can't resist taking.
