A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

He’s always wanted her. Now’s his chance to claim what’s his.

School teacher Marceline Bellini gave up everything—men, sex, anything resembling a social life—to raise her young daughter. To be the perfect parent. But when she attends an engagement party in her standard stick-in-the-mud mode, her friends begin plying Marcy with shots. Just enough to convince her that a little fun doesn't sound like a bad idea... and having some naughty fun is an even better one.

Like finding herself deliciously pressed against a dark alley wall by the very familiar and very hot body of her best friend's older brother.

After years of waiting in painful silence, police officer Aaron Robinson finally has Marcy’s attention. And man, does he have it. But nothing could have prepared either of them for the rush of fiery lust between them. So he’ll just have to convince Marcy he’s for real. And that a rainy, lust-fuelled romp is the first step to a lifetime of completely imperfect happiness…

Kimberly’s Thoughts:
Marcy is a single mother who has become so devoted to her daughter that she has forgotten to take time out for her and have a little fun.  Aaron is the older brother to Marcy's bestfriend and after years of suppressed lust, he sees an opportunity to finally make his move.  When these two finally get together they ignite but Aaron has his work cut out for him in trying to break through Marcy's protective wall and help her add some long lasting spark to her life.

His to Keep is a novella in the Out of Uniform series and is a quick hot read.  Marcy has had a crush on Aaron since she was a teenager but Aaron kept his distance as he felt she was too young for him and then later on thought she needed her space as she worked to get an education and raise her child.  When Aaron sees her at the bar, he finally decides he has waited long enough.  Marcy, with a little bit of liquid courage, thinks her teenage fantasies are coming true.  There are many quick and dirty scenes (it takes a while for this couple to make it to a bedroom but visits to an alley brick wall and school closet will tide you over) that make this novella heavy on the steamy side.

Marcy and Aaron's characters aren't deeply delved into, this is a novella after all, but they are both likable characters.  Marcy struggles with the issues of how a mother should act and what she deserves out of life, making her highly relatable.  Aaron is a stalwart complimentary piece to Marcy and he will warm quite a few hearts as he shows Marcy that she can be a mother and a lover to him at the same time.  As I said, this story falls more on the steamy side and Marcy and Aaron's interactions always include some form of bedroom antics.  Their scenes are sexy but not too erotic that you would feel awkward reading them in public.

There really is no outer scope to the story as the focus is firmly on Marcy and Aaron hooking up and ultimately, living happily ever after together.  A past couple from the previous book is shown and characters for a future romance are hinted at that help fit this into the series.  The author's writing and tone make this a flirty, fun, and spicy read with an epilogue full of sappy goodness to tick all the boxes of a romance reader looking for a swift read.
