We are happy to announce that once again we are holding our Character Love Letter Event! Characters from your favorite books will be joining us all month long to celebrate Valentine's Day with love letters to those special heroes and heroines that they hold dear. So please join us, you won't want to miss it! Our first guest is Janice from Victoria Vane's contemporary romance Rough Rider. Enjoy!
I don’t know why I’m writing this letter when I know I’m never going to send it to you. If I did, I’d just be making a big ass of myself. It’s silly, but it just feels like something I need to do. Maybe I’m hoping that just getting it all out of my system once and for all will act as a purge.
Maybe writing this letter will finally convince me that it’s hopeless. Deep down I know it is, but I still can’t help hoping. Each time your crystal blue eyes meet mine, my heart flutters with frail but undeniable butterfly wings of hope. Add your teasing grin to the mix, and I nearly die inside.
Every. Single. Time.
Perhaps I’ve listened to my Dixie Chicks CD too many times. Whenever I hear, I can Love You Better, I always see your face. That song feels like the anthem of my life.
I’m not beautiful and classy like Rachel Carson and I always seem to trip over my tongue whenever we speak, but I still look forward to those playful words we exchange whenever you’re around the chutes.
Maybe one day it’ll happen. You’ll wake up one day and suddenly see that she’s not the one for you. Maybe one day I’ll get the chance to prove that I can love you better.
The girl you call Red,
Janice Lee Combes
