Historical romance author, Shana Galen, is back with a brand new series!
Throwdown! Book Boyfriends versus Real Boyfriends by Shana Galen
There are lots of reasons to read a new book. You want to learn something new. You want to escape reality for a while. You’re sick of TV or waiting for an appointment.
There are even better reasons for picking up a romance novel: the book boyfriend.
If you’ve been a romance reader for any length of time you know what a book boyfriend is, and you probably have one…or two…or more. Book boyfriends may be entirely fictional, but they beat out even real boyfriends in some ways.
Shana’s Top 5 Book Boyfriends
5. Dane from Earls Just Want to Have Fun
It’s true what authors say—we fall in love with our characters. I totally fell in love with the Earl of Dane from my newest release. He’s pretty stiff and proper and has his “jerk” moments, but he beats out real boyfriends because he’s that rare breed of man who can change for the better. Plus, he’s an earl.
4. Fade from the Razorland series by Ann Aguirre
This is a YA series, and it’s fabulous! I loved Fade from the moment he walked onto the page. He’s brave, strong, and more than a match for the heroine, Deuce. He’s also vulnerable and scarred. I like a bit of sensitivity in a book boyfriend. Real life boyfriends tend not to be so sensitive.
3. Jamie from Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Sexy Scotsman—check. Good with his sword (pun intended)—check. Loyal, honorable, faithful—check. It’s not every guy who learns his wife is from the future and doesn’t freak out. Jamie and Claire have a love that transcends the ages, and that’s not the kind of thing you find every day or with every real boyfriend.
2. Cam from Wait for You by J. Lynn
Yes, this book is a New Adult romance, and I promise if you read it, Cam will become your book boyfriend too. Hands off! He’s mine. Cam is gorgeous, athletic, sensitive, and just a little clueless. He’s just the perfect guy for scarred Avery. Why is he better than a real boyfriend? He cooks and bakes and cleans up, and he doesn’t expect anything in return!
1. Roarke from the In Death series by JD Robb
This is Eve Dallas’s better half, and he really is. He’s gorgeous, with blue eyes, black hair, and an Irish lilt the poets envy. He also supports Eve 100%, and takes an interest in her work, even though he has a natural aversion to cops. Roarke is also a trillionaire who owns half the world and a few other planets. Take that, real life boyfriends!
