Please give a warm welcome to M/M erotica author, Xavier Axelson!
Writing in 2012 included the publication of my first full-length novel, Velvet. This story developed when I saw a picture of a shoe on the last page of Vogue. I read magazines back to front for some reason and when I first saw the picture, an entire story sprung forward as though it’d been waiting for me. Isn’t that odd how that works? Velvet took about a year to write, edit, and publish. It was a luminous journey. I say luminous because although the story lends itself to the darkness, the process behind it was all about shedding on my journey as a writer. I was one person when the story began and after two surgeries am actually a totally different person on the other end. I wrote Velvet while recovering and while I had to learn to walk and regain my strength again, I learned to tame certain weaknesses I faced as a writer. I also encountered two fine and talented editors who gave of their time and patience most generously. Velvet is about hope, blindness, decadence, depravity and most importantly, love; brotherly love, sensual love, self-love, love of ones talents, parental love and selfish love, because I believe we are a product of how, who and why we love. If you read Velvet, please let me know what you think, I always love to hear from readers who often shed light and share insights I miss.
Lily and Earthly Concerns also saw the light of day in 2012, though how I managed to do as much writing as I apparently did, I am still unsure. Both are paranormal and I’m told terrifying and haunting. I couldn’t ask for higher praise and am glad they were both well received and are being enjoyed. It’s funny how something like renovating a website can become something like an archeological dig of ones work. I think things happen at such a fats pace by the time you stop to consider what you’ve done, it’s a year later. Isn’t that always the way?
Many happy, bright, and beautiful wishes for 2013 and beyond.

The first novel from Xavier Axelson is set against a backdrop of decadence, privilege and intrigue. Virago, the royal tailor, makes a discovery that will test the bonds of brotherhood, unravel the forbidden secrets of his heart and threaten the very fabric of his existence. In a land where cruelty is disguised as allegiance, loyalty is masked by obligation and the laws of sumptuary govern the people, nothing is more dangerous than Velvet.
