Tour: Kindred of the Fallen by Isis Rushdan (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Please welcome Serenity Shaw from Isis Rushdan's Kindred of the Fallen!

Character Interview: Meet Serenity Shaw

Where do you dream of traveling to and why?
The Himalayas to visit House (or clan) Herut. It was my father’s home before he left to be with my mother, and my mate, Cyrus, will be the leader one day. I’d also like to visit House Aten in Iceland and House Sekhem, which is in some secretive location in the Sahara. My mother has ties to both of those Houses and I might find a clue as to what really happened to her.

Tell us about your family.
My parents each left their Houses or clans to try life away from their collectives. When I was five, my mother abandoned us. My father was so heartbroken that he committed suicide. At least that’s what I remember.

What was the scariest moment of your life?
When I realized I was falling in love with Cyrus. It happened so fast and I knew I’d have to demolish one life with a wrecking ball in order to have a new one with him. It also meant bloodthirsty warriors from House Sekhem were going to try to kill me. You’ll have to read the book to learn more. But the realization that I was in love with the most amazing and annoyingly bossy male was also the best moment of my life.
Has Cyrus taught you any life lessons you’d like to share?
How to love and give of myself regardless of the sacrifices I might have to make.

What are your favorite TV shows?
I only DVR the Real Housewives of New York and Atlanta. It’s too entertaining not to watch, but Cyrus just sighs and shakes his head at it.

What is your favorite beverage?
Big, bold red wine.Amarone and Primitivo are my favorites.

What songs are most played on your Ipod?
“Furious Angels” by Rob Dougan. If Cyrus had a theme song, this would be it.
“The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning” by Smashing Pumpkins
“The Last Beat Of My Heart” by DeVotchKa
“That’s How Strong My Love Is” by Alicia Keys
“Sail” by AWOLNATION

If you could apologize to someone in your past, who would it be?
My best friend, Evan.

Who should play you in a film?
Paula Patton. She was pretty kick-ass in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. I have no idea who could play Cyrus. He has the debonair swagger of Michael Fassbender and the smoking hot bod of Wolverine. Aaah, I’m a lucky gal, but don’t tell him I said that.

Do you prefer ice cream or pie?
I like both, so pie a la mode would be my choice.
What would we find under your bed?
The sneakers I tossed off after my morning run, my crossbow and bolts, and a sketchpad with drawings of my mother.

What makes you happy?
Painting, running, knowing who I really am…Cyrus.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?
I get a lot of heat for my human mindset. Kindred don’t like it or understand it since I’m the first of our kind to be raised away from a collective, but I love looking at the world with human eyes and hope I always do.
Thanks to all the ladies at Reading Between the Wines for having me on! I’ll stick around to take any questions and Isis Rushdan promised to stop by as well.

Cyrus has been preparing to claim her as his Blessed mate—the other half of a split soul that, once reunited, is his only chance to break the curse that plagues his people.

Their union is the greatest hope for redemption in a thousand years, but not all Kindred want to be saved. A dark secret could snuff out their lives before love has a chance to unite them…and redeem the Kindred for all time.
