Gabe, Jace, and Ash: three of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the country. They’re accustomed to getting anything they want. Anything at all. For Gabe, it’s making one particular fantasy come true with a woman who was forbidden fruit. Now she’s ripe for the picking...
When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.
Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once, ever since she was a teenager with a huge crush on her brother’s best friend. So what if Gabe’s fourteen years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires.
As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed—and vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

Crystal L's Thoughts:

Don't touch your best friend's little sister. It's the rule every guy knows. It's a damn inconvenient rule when you've been lusting after the little minx for several years. So you happen to be fourteen years older than her. Who cares? Age won't prevent you from showing her all the pleasures of the body. And now that he feels she's old enough to get involved in a physical relationship while keeping emotions out of it, well, if the opportunity comes along to pursue that, then he will.

The opportunity comes. One night as Gabe Hamilton attends a party thrown at the opening of one of his new hotels, his best friends and business partners, Jace and Ash, head upstairs to entertain a brunette in between them, leaving him alone to oversee the party. As he is standing there, waiting for the necessary evil to be done and over with, she walks in. Dressed to kill and no longer shadowed by her brother Jace's protection. Mia Crestwell looks like every naughty fantasy he's ever had come to life, and he intends to have her.

Poor Mia has been in love with Gabe since she was sixteen. She's realized it's a pointless infatuation and is doing her best to get it through her mind that she needs to move on from it, but the heart is hard to give up on. Besides, it's not like Gabe would ever be interested in her. Right?

When Gabe approaches her with a job opportunity, combined with a naughty contract, Mia has to make the decision on whether she's going to accept the opportunity, knowing she would be causing problems between herself and her brother, as well as between best friends. Or will she walk away and always wonder what it could have been like, even if it is only temporary?

I love Maya Banks. While this book did give me occasional flashbacks to her Pregnancy and Passion Series from Harlequin, as well as dueling with a cliched story basis that has been written about a gazillion times before, I felt like the characters and their problems still worked for me. I enjoyed Gabe and Mia's story, but I really felt like it was one giant warm up for Jace and Ash's stories. THOSE I am looking forward to immensely! A four wine glass toast to Banks latest book and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.
