Dragon shifter Thane Ealdian has waited six hundred years to avenge the loss of his family, and finally a clue has surfaced that implicates an old adversary. Thane will stop at nothing to seek his revenge, but to prevent violence between the clans, the Bloodkin Triad has forced a mediator on him. Some upstart named Emerson Clark...

Emerson is fed up with all Bloodkin and how they've managed to control every aspect of her life. While she doesn’t believe that Bloodkin can shift into dragons—because, really?—she has to admit, they are exceptionally nice to look at. But once the mediation is over, she wants nothing to do with them ever again.

When Thane discovers that the clever and beautiful Emerson is the key to uncovering the truth, he has no intention of letting her go. Although she wants to run, she can’t turn her back on Thane or her intense feelings for him. His quest pulls at her heart, just as his nearness sparks something dangerous inside her. With evil in hot pursuit, sooner or later everything will ignite—the mediation, the shifter within her... and their passions.

Linda's Thoughts:
He was a match; she was flint. And between them both...fire.

TEMPTED BY FIRE by Erin Kellison was an original, very enjoyable tale featuring dragon and wolf shifters. It combined a romance, an enduring mystery and a plethora of fast-paced action. The book is the first installment in the author's new Dragons of Bloodfire series. It was the story of mediator Emerson Clark and dragon-shifter Thane Ealdian.

Imagine an incredible world with dragon and wolf shifters and with blood feuds spanning centuries. Add in slayers, romance and a plethora of danger and fast-paced action for a tale that will grab and hold your attention.

I liked both Emerson and Thane. She was feisty and a bit naive, at first. She was supposed to be a mediator between two dragon families when she was really an unbeliever that shifters existed! She thought she would just play along with her client's fantasies, but, to her credit, she came up to speed quickly thanks to Thane, a sexy black dragon. Thane was solely driven by revenge until he met Emerson. I loved how she made Thane actually want to live again. He was such a hot hero. Their romance was sweet and intense. LOL! I loved the hoards...

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from this read:

"Send the mediator to me when he comes."
"What are you going to do?"
Matthew knew him so well. Thane would handle this the old way. "I'm going to eat him."
---

"You see?" Thane waved at the photo. "Everything about her is nonsensical. A dragon who lies with a wolf? I suppose pigs fly and the moon is blue, too."
---
"Why do you even have jewelry?" she asked. "You don't wear any."
"It seems I acquired it for you."

I thoroughly enjoyed this first installment in Erin's new paranormal romance series. Be prepared for a roller coaster ride featuring a solid storyline with a multitude of unexpected twists and dark turns. I first discovered Erin's writing with her addictive, highly original Reveler series and was thrilled to see that she was delving into the world of dragons. I love dragons! I would highly recommend it to anyone who revels in paranormal urban fantasies featuring shifters. I most definitely look forward to reading AWAKENED BY FIRE, the next book in Erin's Dragons of Bloodfire series!
