When she ran, she didn’t think he’d follow…

Pack princess Alyssa Clare was trying to come up with ways to get out of her arranged mating to alpha wolf Reece O’Shea—until she meets the powerful male. After getting to know him, mating doesn’t seem like such a bad idea anymore. But when he makes it clear she’s just a business arrangement for him and his pack, she calls off the mating and heads south to stay with a friend to lick her wounds in private.

But he’s not willing to let her go without a fight.

Linda's Thoughts:
There was a gaping hole in his chest without her. The three weeks he’d spent with her had been the best of his life. She was like this bright, shining star that had been ripped away from him. He was territorial as hell and he wasn’t letting her go.
---

No way was she forcing Reece into a mating he didn't want. Wolves mated for life and it wouldn't be fair to either of them. And she wasn't ashamed to admit that she wanted love and a lasting partnership. She refused to settle for less.

I absolutely inhaled TO CATCH HIS MATE by Savannah Stuart. It was an entertaining, quick paranormal shifter romance. It's the first book I've read in this series but I can attest that it works very well as a standalone, even though it's the fifth installment in the author's Crescent Moon series. It was so enjoyable that I'm now resolved to go back and catch up with this series soon. This was the story of two wolf shifters, Alyssa Clare and Reece O'Shea.

As the story opens, pack princess Alyssa had originally been vehemently opposed to the mating her father has arranged for her with Reece. However, after meeting Reece in person, she has changed her mind as he is a genuinely great guy and she is seriously attracted to him. Then... she overhears Reece talking to a pack mate about her - it's not what she wants to hear. Because she is determined to have a loving relationship like her parents had had, she decides right then and there that she will not mate with Reece after all and disappears from both her father's and Reece's radar.

Reece, however, is equally determined to make her his. He knows he made an error in judgment. Can he find her and repair the misunderstanding so she'll accept him as her mate?

I really liked both the leads. Reece was a relatively new alpha to a small, but growing, pack. He was smokin' hot, strong and his only fear was of losing the woman who meant everything to him. He absolutely amazed me with the maneuvers he employed to get her back.

Alyssa was used to her father's large pack. She was beautiful, sexy, spirited and not afraid to stand up for herself. The couple's budding romance was sweet and hot as they tap-danced around each other. There was no doubt they had steamy chemistry... but could they learn to trust each other and allow love to develop between them?

As an aside to the couple's amorous antics, I was intrigued with the pack politics and protocol and was fascinated with how the packs spotlighted in this tale integrated into society. As a subplot, Alyssa's father had his hands full with a relationship issue of his own.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from this read:

"He's not my alpha."
"Oh, he's most definitely yours," Charlie said. "He's been watching you for the last twenty minutes as if he could do very, very wicked things to you."
---

Tingles traced up her spine, and even before she turned around she knew Reece was moving her way. That shouldn't excite her so much, but after his visit this morning he was all she'd been able to think about. Obsess about. Her nipples beaded tightly against her bra as his earthy, masculine scent grew stronger, invading all her senses.
Damn that male
---

"I wanted to throw you over my shoulder and take you back to my place the moment we met, your scent was that sexy."

Savannah Stuart is the pseudonym of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katie Reus. Under this name she writes slightly hotter romance than her mainstream books. Katie is one of my favorite authors.

Even though this is a short story, the characters and story line were fully developed and it wasn't rushed in the least. I would highly recommend TO CATCH HIS MATE to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances. You will definitely want to read it in one sitting.
