FALLON and REIGN - a meeting and a parting, with only the stars as witness.

AUTHORS NOTE: The Rooftop is a short story (10 PAGES) set in the Entwined Realms universe. This story would best be described as a slice-of-life/character study, and is meant for existing fans of the series. It is not the best place for readers who are not familiar with the Entwined Realms to start.

This short is not necessary for following the over-arching plot of the Entwined Realms. This is an extra, written for fans who want more time with these characters.

The Rooftop is Book 1.9 of the Entwined Realms series, but due to the nature of the story, can be read any time after finishing Stone Guardian.

Linda's Thoughts:
THE ROOFTOP by Danielle Monsch is a short story consisting of just fifteen pages in Danielle's Entwined Realms series.  It renders some intriguing insight into both Fallon and Reign through a series of rooftop meetings and offers a taste of what may lay in store for them in future installments.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from this quick read:

Before her lay the enemy. The only end guaranteed if she forgot that fact?  Death - or worse.  "Strangely enough, approval from those who don't even bother to introduce themselves before commenting on my shortcomings...tends not to make much of an impression on me."
---

He couldn't have the last word, not at this first meeting. "It would hurt my heart to know I didn't live up to your expectations."

Reign glanced over his shoulder, his gaze locking with hers.  "No," he murmured, the sound only a decibel louder than the still swirling winds.  "I think I need not worry about that."
---

He looked her over with blatant intent, his gaze containing an edge that had her swallowing hard before she could stop herself.  "Do you know what I think?" he said at last.

"I live to hear such things."
He stepped forward, only a handful of steps, but enough that the full force of his gaze grabbed and held hers, enough that she could almost believe she could fell his breath, hear the beat of his heart under his chest.  "I think I am done with anticipation."

I don't believe that those not previously acquainted with the characters would appreciate this tale but for fans of the series, this is a must-read teaser.  Of course, I recommend reading all the book in the Entwined Realms series as they're all fantastic. I know I can't wait to read more about Fallon and Reign in the series!
