A gargoyle of Levet’s charm and intelligence should not be facing a solitary Christmas. True, he may appear a little unconventional—not to mention unconventionally little—even for a gargoyle. But what Levet lacks in height he makes up for in loyalty, and being banned from the festivities surrounding the Queen of Weres’ new pups is quite unfair.

So when a beautiful Christmas angel begs for help in fulfilling her duties, Levet has nothing better to do than agree. Armed with a magical wand, Levet confronts Damon, a pureblood Were intent on seizing the throne. Challenging the King will put the pups at risk—and drive away Damon’s potential mate, Gia. Who better to convince Damon to choose love, not war, than a gargoyle expert in amour? With a little magic, and a lot of Levet, this may yet be a truly wonderful Christmas time.

Linda's Thoughts:
Levet, Savior of the World and Knight in Shining Armor, at your service...
It was his duty as a card-carrying Knight in Shining Armor to answer the call of a woman in distress.
Okay, he didn't actually have a card, but still...

A VERY LEVET CHRSTIMAS by Alexandra Ivy is a perfect paranormal holiday tale! I completely enjoyed this darling tale even though I'd never read any of the author's Guardians of Eternity series. In the series, it's installment 11.5 and a quick read at only 77 pages.  You will definitely want to read this in one sitting.

A VERY LEVET CHRISTMAS is a magical retelling of Charles Dickens' well-loved classic, A Christmas Carol, with a Christmas past, present and future that I won't soon forget complete with a mischievously sassy and sweet Christmas angel, a tiny, good-looking gargoyle who will steal your heart, and powerful weres and vamps!  After reading this, I've made an early New Year's resolution to check out the rest of this series!

The story begins as Levet, a small gargoyle, tries to visit with Hailey, the Queen of the Weres, and Levet's adopted family at Christmas.  He is thwarted in his quest and turned away by Savatore, the King, who is obviously not a Levet fan. Feeling sorry for himself but unable to resist a damsel in distress, Levet comes upon the currently out-of-commission Christmas Angel.  She needs Levet to take over her duties for a short time. Despite his misgivings and armed with her wand, the magic-challenged Levet  undertakes a calamitous journey to save Christmas for the King and Queen.  If he is unsuccessful, the consequences will be dire for the paranormal world.

OMG... I LOVED Levet.  What a darling creature!  I just wanted to hug him!  He is so eager to help and take on huge responsibilities and is not held back by his short stature. Damon, a hunky were, was the "lucky" recipient of Levet's travels to the past, present and future.  Damon's and Gia's story pulled at my heartstrings. Supporting characters make for an interesting, diverse cast.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from this darling read:

"Sera Belle, the Christmas angel," she said, her voice light and lilting. "You can call me Sera."
"Christmas angel," Levet repeated in shock. He'd never met an actual angel. "I thought you were a myth. Like leprechauns."
She deliberately glanced down at her slender body that was covered by a shimmering silver gown.
"Do I look like a myth?"
---

"Someone must perform my duties."
Levet stiffened. There was a faux innocence in her tone that set off his spicy senses. Or was it Spidey-sense?
He narrowed his gaze. "Duties?"
She blinked, a dimple abruptly appearing beside her mouth. "I'm a Christmas angel."
"Oui, so you said."
She waved a hand toward the nearby pines covered in snow., "And it is Christmas."
Hmm. Levet tried to recall what he'd heard about Christmas angels. He knew they didn't slide down chimneys or ride reindeer, but it seemed that they were rumored to do something Christmassy.
"Do you spread festive joy?" he demanded.
---

Why did a demon who possessed the savage strength of a werewolf also need such compelling beauty?
It was one of those philosophical questions that had no answer.
Like why Firefly had been canceled after just one season.
---

Families... Could not live with them, could not turn them into toads.
---

"My magic is not evil. It is a powerful force for good," Levet protested, his wings twitching with outrage. Really some demons. "I am like Batman. Only cuter."

There were so many cute scenes!  It's hard to pick just one but I have to mention there's an unexpected twist near the end involving the Christmas Angel which uniquely makes Levet's Christmas.  It also reveals a different side to the Christmas Angel - who knew she could be so naughty?  LOL!

The author's writing was top-notch with well-defined, genuine characters and crisp storytelling! This was a fast-paced and action-packed story, teeming with fun and playfulness albeit with a dark edge... as who knew if little Levet would be successful in saving Christmas? And in saving the royal pups? And would Damon find his way back into Gia's arms? And would Levet's luck get even luckier?

I would imagine that this tale is a MUST-READ for fans of the series!

Regardless, I highly recommend A VERY LEVET CHRISTMAS to anyone who enjoys escaping into a humorous, highly entertaining holiday paranormal read that's guaranteed to leave you with the warm fuzzies!  Thank you to Kensington Publishing and to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this novella.
