Who could forget the cover for Dead Sexy Dragon? Even though our guests second book, Red Hot Dragon has a shirt on we still get to see those tempting dragon tattoos. Lets see if we can get her to talk about them, welcome Lolita!
Lolita: Thanks for inviting me to stop by and chat!
Lexi: The cover of Dead Sexy Dragon screams Paranormal Romance. But once you crack open this short book you get more than that. You stuffed your PNR with steaming hot scenes, enough to label this book erotic! How do you tackle writing all those sex scenes?
Lolita:I've always written very sexy stories. Scorching hot seems to be my natural voice. Not sure what that says about me. Er...I guess I'm a dirty birdie! LOL. And, yes, I think this series should absolutely be labeled *erotic* paranormal romance.
Lexi: We love wine around here, as if you couldn’t tell, and I think I would need gallons of it. Or maybe just some dragon shifters. How can a girl not be intrigued by that! Did you grow up fascinated by dragons?
Lolita:I don't know that I was fascinated by dragons, but I was definitely obsessed with all things supernatural and occult. The idea to do dragons in this series just sort of popped in my head when Cora's story appeared as just a whisper of a possibility. I've written werewolves (Three Day Weekend) and Siberian tigers (Illicit Bargain) but dragons were new territory for me. I couldn't pass up a chance to play in this new world!
Lexi: The dragons you have introduced to us are certainly alphas. Griffin, who is the hero of Red Hot Dragon, and Stig from Dead Sexy Dragon are the epitome of alpha heros. Next you are going to give us Ian Madoc in Wicked Dark Dragon. Do your heros have dragon tattoos? And if they all do, what will Ian’s look like?
Lolita:So the dragons all wear their tribal marks and use them to tell the stories of their lives. They also wear marks for protection and other empowerment symbols. (This is revealed a bit more in Wicked Dark Dragon, Mad's book.) For Mad and Griff (who are cousins and tribe mates) those are old school Welsh and Celtic runes. Stig wears Norse and Viking symbols. Niko (his book—Renegade Dragon—will release later this summer after Mad's) will be shown with alchemical and Greek tattoos.
Lexi: Each book in the Dragon Heat series is 128 pages. Would you consider this a serial of a sort? I know the characters change, but the overall story arc is continual isn’t it? Do you have plans to release a book with all the Dragon Heat books combined?
Lolita:I don't know if it's a serial in the way most readers would describe one. (I'm thinking of H.M. Ward's Ferro books which I LOVE, by the way.) This is definitely a series of novellas that follow one big story arc.
I'm not sure if Forever Yours/Grand Central will do a print release of all the books. They did put together some super fun and chunky paperback promo ARCS for the Dragon Heat bundle. I got them in a box today—and fell in love with them!
Lexi: Sounds like a fun giveaway! Thank you for giving us tattooed dragon shifters! And thanks for stopping by to talk about them Lolita!
Lolita:Thanks so much for having me! ☺

While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created. As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college. Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history. Lo lives in Texas with her husband, daughter and big blubbering Great Dane with mommy issues.
