Menage a May: Master's Hunt by Verity Ant Tour (Guest Post/Giveaway)

Welcome back lovely! We have another great post for our event with erotica author, Verity Ant. She is joining us on tour for her book, Master's Hunt and also have a deliciously fun giveaway for it. Enjoy!

Multiple Women Ménage
by Verity Ant

It has always been the case that ménage with one man and two women has been popular in men's erotic fiction. In more recent years, some of that has trickled over to women's erotic fiction as well. More prevalent, over the last five years or so, has been the trend toward two men and one woman for women's ménage erotica. M/F/M sex has been a fantasy of women for a long, long time, but they're only now getting a chance to read about it more freely and publish it openly.

In Master's Hunt, the story focuses on a M/f/f triad, but it's not exactly the old-fashioned kind. This triad is lead by a strong, dominant male who is served by two submissive females. These two women are far from doormats; they have strength, perseverance, active careers, and intelligent minds. So why would they choose to be in a relationship where they have to share their man?

I've been in a relationship like this in the past. It suited me and my Dom, Derek, at the time. I would do it again if it was practical. One reason I went into it was selfish: I'm bisexual and I wanted a stable, secure and safe partner to care for in that way. In Master's Hunt, both Renee and Amiko are bisexual and have those cravings to satisfy along with their heterosexual needs. Would either still be in a relationship with Kevin if the other was not present? Yes. Renee was in her relationship with Kevin alone for five years before Amiko entered the picture. Amiko quickly showed how well she fit into the relationship, and in the novel, when she's taken from them by a kidnapper, they're devastated and will go to any lengths to get her back.

Another reason a woman might share her guy is because it appeals to him. Possibly the majority of men have a fantasy involving two women in their bed. Kevin is not immune to this desire. He can afford to have two women, has the patience to manage them and the intelligence to deal with the logistics. He is also in a social position where he doesn't need to keep it much of a secret. He takes Renee and Amiko to events and parties together, and if anyone asks him why he does it, his answer is simple: "Because I can." But what benefit is it to Amiko and Renee to please their guy like this? In this case, this aspect of their triad is satisfied because they truly love Kevin and want him to fulfill all his desires.

A ménage of any sort is not for everyone. Jealousy is a ménage-killer of the first order. It is my opinion, however, that jealousy is a learned characteristic rather than an intrinsic one. A lot of readers will claim that it would be too strong an emotion to overlook for them, and I kindly advise them to avoid real-life ménages. I'm sure they would without my input. Ménage fantasies, like Master's Hunt, where everything is copasetic, those can be fun and blazing hot. That's what makes them fantastic reads.

Kevin, Renee, and Amiko love each other. Like the triangle—the strongest geometric configuration—their love is both simple and complex, made more complex, perhaps, by the BDSM nature of their sexuality. Kevin is the apex of their union, a sexual sadist and dominant personality. His women, both intelligent and attractive, are submissive, but only to him. He would never harm them, but Kevin, driven by the narrow focus of his sexuality, finds pleasure in inflicting sexual pain in a controlled manner, rewarding good behavior with pleasure.
When Amiko is stolen from their triad, kidnapped by a crazy woman who fancies herself in love with the Asian beauty, both Kevin and Renee are beside themselves with concern for her welfare. They need to find Amiko before something ugly happens to her. From captivity, Amiko tries to help them, but her trail of “breadcrumbs” might just get her into more trouble than she is already in.
Kevin’s forceful nature demands that he take charge of the search and rescue operation. Renee’s love for her sister-in-spirit compels her to accept danger. Amiko must be saved. Any other outcome, the ruin of their carefully nurtured triad, simply cannot be borne.

  3. I really enjoyed your post. I have read many menage romances and I always thought that jealousy would tear them apart. I think in real life you would have to work extra hard to make sure everyone felt included. Otherwise someone could get their feelings hurt.

  6. I have already added this book to my TBR list. Generally the menages that I read involve 2 guys/1 girl (I guess that appeals to me the most) but I am very eager to read this one. I would think that the only way a relationship would succeed (whether with 2,3, or more people) is if all the participants love and trust each other. They can not allow jealousies and insecurities to come between them. Everyone has bouts of these from time to time, but you have to communicate and trust each other.

  7. Verity, another interesting post on your blog tour!

I started reading menage stories a few months ago and I find that dynamic very interesting, especially if it's well done, as it is in Master's Hunt!

  9. Another excellent post, Verity! I've read several very good menage novels, including Master's Hunt, and must say I love to read them, but don't think I could participate. Not sure if it's a jealousy thing or a self-conscious thing. But they sure read HOT! Congrats on an excellent book.

  11. You're right that inclusiveness is very important, Stacie. It takes more effort to mend hurt feelings than to avoid them in the first place. I appreciate your comment. :)

  14. June M, you're so right. Communication makes all the difference. In the case of the characters in this story, Kevin has very carefully picked the women he's bonded with and the merger of their three lives is strong. The BDSM aspect is only one characteristic of their relationship. Thank you for coming by.

  17. Thank you, Jenna. I'll admit that I am very careful about the menage stories I read. So many are pure fantasy and, once you've been there in real life, the stuff of pure fantasy just isn't moving anymore. I'm glad you enjoy them. Thank you for commenting!

  23. M/M/F menage is very popular right now, books4me. It was a rarity up until only a few years ago and M/F/F menage was more the norm. Just goes to show you how times change. :) Thank you for commenting.

  24. Oh my, BleuAme. I'm no social scientist! I speak from observation only, and I have known a number of trios who don't have jealousy problems. My extrapolations aren't brilliant or insightful by any means. :) Thank you for coming by and commenting.
