Interview with author, Jill Shalvis of Still the One! (#Giveaway)

Jill Shalvis will miss writing about her hot guys…I mean her Lucky Harbor series. But not to worry, she still has her amazing Animal Magnetism series going strong! Let’s ask her about the series’ heroes…welcome back to the blog Jill!

Thanks for having me!!

Lexi: We always get something good when you stop by the blog. From hot chocolate recipes to insights on your handsome heroes we know we are in for a treat. Sort of like the kind of glee you get when a person who wronged you needs something from you and comes crawling; which is what you have happen for Darcy and A.J. Have you ever had that happen in real life?

I’m happy to say that my books are truly fiction.  And I of course don’t ever write about my personal experiences…  Ahem.  ☺  Okay, so sometimes my real life spills over into my writing.  But I do try to change up the names to protect the innocent…

Lexi: Who needs real life with an imagination like yours! And your imagination comes with dogs for this series. I am a huge fan of the Animal Magnetism series because of that. Have you had any fans share pet stories with you because of this series?

Yes, fans often share their animal stories and I love it!  Usually around a book release, I encourage readers to post pictures of their animals “reading” my books.  I LOVE that.

Lexi: Pets are popular, and so are heroes who were part of our armed forces, like A.J. What is your favorite thing about writing about a veteran?

There’s something so deeply appealing about a hero who would give life and limb for his country.   They’re strong minded and strong willed, inside and out.  I of course torture them just a little bit more but then they get their happily ever after and there’s nothing more satisfying than that.  ☺

Lexi: Veterans, dogs, willful women. This series is great! But as good as it is, do you ever miss Lucky Harbor?

I loved writing Lucky Harbor.  I loved writing all my books.  But even good things have to come to an end.  You never want to stay too long at the party, you know?  And I can promise you, new stuff is coming. ☺

Lexi: I think your writing connects to us readers in such a way that we feel as if we have been living in these places. So naturally we end up missing them. Good thing my personal library is stocked and ready for re-reads in between waiting for new releases! Congrats on the release of STILL THE ONE and we can’t wait for the next one!

And it won’t be too long!  I have a new series starting in June with SECOND CHANCE SUMMER, and then the next Animal book ALL I WANT in Oct.  ☺

Darcy Stone is game for anything — except sexy Navy veteran and physical therapist A.J. Colten, the guy who'd rejected her when she'd needed him most. Now the shoe is on the other foot and he needs her to play nice and help him secure grants for his patients. Unfortunately, Darcy can't refuse. She needs the money to fund her passion project: rescuing S&R dogs and placing them with emotionally wounded soldiers.

A.J. admits it — Darcy is irresistible. But he's already been battle-scarred by a strong-willed, vivacious, adventurous woman like Darcy, and he's not making the same mistake twice—until he and Darcy are forced to fake a relationship. Growing closer than they'd ever imagined possible, Darcy and AJ have to ask themselves: how much between them is pretend? What's the real thing? And where does it go from here?

Don't miss a second of the Animal Magnetism series!
