Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?

Amara Young has always been on the outside looking in. She’s the one lightning-struck woman out of her group who has never felt as if she’s belonged. She lost a year of her life caring for her dying friend, but now it’s her turn to find out who she is. Only when the time comes, two men stand in her way—two men who claim her as theirs.

Tristan Archer, fae royalty and Conclave member, has waited over nine hundred years for his fate. And now he has two chances. While one knows his path, the other seems blind to what they could have. It will take more than a simple risk for Tristan to finally have what he desires…that is if Amara and Seth can overcome their own uncertainties.

While the other two in his life are fighting themselves and their futures, Seth Oceanus knows exactly what he wants. The younger brother of a Conclave member and relatively young in his realm, he knows he’ll have to prove himself so others see him for who he truly is.

As the triad succumbs to their cravings, they will have to fight more than their overwhelming feelings in order to survive.

Warning: Contains an innocent merman, a very talented fae, and a human woman who can outpace them both.

Linda's  Thoughts:
“I don't want you two hurt because of me."...
"At least try, sweetling. Please." At her slight nod, he did what came natural and lowered his head. She gasped into his mouth, and he pressed his lips to hers. The electric shock between them only pushed him to kiss her deeper....
"I think I can try if you're going to keep kissing me like that," she finally said, and he grinned.”

AN IMMORTAL'S SONG by Carrie Ann Ryan is a thoroughly enjoyable paranormal ménage à trois romance. The characters are genuinely likable, the story line is imaginative and well-written, the settings are intriguing and quite unique and the romance was hot, hot, hot! It all added up to a story I did not want to put down until I'd read the last word!

This is the sixth book in the author's Dante's Circle series which features the stories of close human friends who were struck by a freak lightning strike while enjoying a drink at a bar. I read the first book, DUST OF MY WINGS, and then jumped right into this one. In hindsight, I can attest that AN IMMORTAL'S SONG could have been completely enjoyed as a standalone, if that is your preference. I have enjoyed both books and plan to go back and catch up with the whole series soon!

AN IMMORTAL'S SONG is the story of a triad consisting of lightning-struck human Amara Young, 900 year-old fae prince Tristan Archer and merman Seth Oceanus. In the author's world, all humans have supernatural origins. The rare lightning that hit the humans in the bar imparted a boost to the human's other half in that once they finally meet their fated mates, their paranormal other half will then come to the fore.

As the story opens, the lightning-struck humans, most with their fated mates, Tristan and Seth are having drinks in Dante's bar. We learn that Armara has had a tough life and has had to watch all but one of her best friends find their fated mates and, subsequently, their paranormal selves. Tristan and Seth  may be supernatural but they've not found a way to divulge to Armara that they are her fated mates. For two guys with such awesome powers, they are humorously shy about claiming their mate. One huge problem is that Armara is attracted to the two, but she doesn't feel the bond that Tristan and Seth feel. Luckily, Tristan and Seth are finally able to talk her into a tryst, but the trio is both surprised and besieged after they mate. All three will have to call on strengths they didn't realize they had to overcome the deadly obstacles before them.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from this hot read:

“Amara would never let them go, even if there weren’t a bond. That was what she vowed to herself right then. She’d fight for this, fight for them. They were worth it. And with the way they looked at her, she was just starting to figure out that she was worth it, as well.”
---

“First, there will be no kidnapping. I know you're stronger and bigger and have magic and crap, but I'm drawing the line at kidnapping.”
---

“So," Tristan said with an odd grin. "This is my home."
Seth looked at Armara, who blinked at him. "It's ...big," Seth said slowly.
Armara laughed quietly and bumped her should against his arm. "It is that."...
Tristan snorted and shook his head. "I'd make a joke along the lines of, 'well if you think this is big,'"...
Nothing like a dick joke to bring people together.”

I recently discovered Carrie Ann Ryan's books when her  1001 DARK NIGHTS: WICKED WOLF (Redwood Pack #8) was included in my welcome bag at the Coastal Magic Convention. I am so thrilled that it was! It was a great read and it induced me to check out her other books. After reading AN IMMORTAL'S SONG, I'm now dying to read PROWLED DARKNESS which will be the final book in the series and will feature lion shifter Malik and lightning-struck human Eliana's story. I can tell from the short snippets with the couple in this book, that it's going to be a fantastic. I would recommend AN IMMORTAL'S SONG to anyone who enjoys steamy, magically ingenious paranormal urban fantasies.
