Lexi: Last time our guest was here we got to drool over her hot Worth The Fight covers. But today we get to see something new! And we love new. Welcome back, Sidney Halston!
Hi Lexi! I’m so excited to be here. Thank you!
Lexi: Congratulations on your first romantic suspense release! The cover for Kiss Mary Kill is perfect for the genre. I am a cover-sucker and a good one will get me to buy a book without much of a glance at the back blurb. What is your favorite thing about Kiss Mary Kill’s cover?
Well, the title is my favorite part. It’s perfect. And I love how the title takes up the entire cover. It reminds me of one of those old school suspense novels with the couple running in silhouette in the background.
Lexi: I did read the Kiss Mary Kill blurb and it gave me chills. Stalkers are incredibly creepy. And I hear your plot has a great twist! A necessity for a good romantic suspense. When you wrote that scene were you giddy? Any fist pumps for nailing it?
HAHA. Sort of. I wish I was that confident. After writing and re-writing then re-re-writing it, yes, eventually there was some yelling and fist pumps, and maybe even some tears. Suspense is hard and not my normal genre, so that was one obstacle. But, even harder was balancing it out with the romance. I didn’t want a full-blown suspense where the romance took a back seat. My love is romance and I wanted that to shine through so balancing that was difficult. But, I think it came out pretty good. I hope you all will agree!
Lexi: Someone certainly gets nailed…your heroine, Megan Cruz. She is a pop star who gets reacquainted with Jax. If you were to pick a type of wine, what kind would Megan be?
I like this question. Hmmm…let me think. It took Megan a very long time to become the feisty confident woman that she is. So, maybe a finely aged Pinot Noir. Something with a little kick to it.
Lexi: Kiss Mary Kill is one book I will read curled up with a glass of wine. Do you pop any bubbly or toast when you have a book birthday?
I try to. Sometimes it’s difficult since it’s usually a Tuesday and I’m trying to wrangle my kids to school, to do homework, baths, food, sleep…etc. But when I’m finally relaxed, I’ll have a glass of wine or I’ll wait until the weekend and maybe enjoy a few glasses of Prosecco.
Lexi: We are very excited for your new release and wish you success! We hope to see you back for book two in the Iron Clad Security Series!
Absolutely. I’d love to. I just finished book two of the series, Last First Kiss, and am currently writing book three, Kiss Kiss Bang. I hope you enjoy the series and I can’t wait to chat with you all again…next time with a glass of wine!
