Dylan Royce, ex-teen pop star, needs a sexy image makeover. His first adult solo album came out under his perfect, white-washed persona and tanked. Joining a band equally famous for their music and their between-the-sheets escapades is only the start. He needs to get raunchy. Sleep with a different girl every night. But there’s only one woman he wants, and she still sees him as a goody two-shoes boy-bander.
Ariel Watson is the publicist in charge of turning Dylan into the sex-god every woman dreams of doing. Frankly, she doesn’t see the appeal. Until one hot kiss changes her mind. Now she wants to keep him for herself--without losing her job. Or losing Dylan the legions of drooling fans she’s supposed to be building for him.
Turning bad got Dylan the woman of his dreams. But how will he choose between her...or his career catapulting him back to superstar status?

Lexi’s Thoughts:
Excellent romance, fleshed out characters, and a plot that keeps the pages turning. That is what you get when you pick up anything, long or short, from Christi Barth and The Reverse of Perfection is no exception.
Dylan is one of those boy band stars who has grown up and is trying to shake the teenie bopper image. Seeing that transformation from Dylan’s point of view made me feel for him. He is an artist who does what he does for the music. And he loves it. You can sense it in his songs.

And Barth lets us hear Dylan a few times when he plays for Ariel. The author may have been nervous having to write song lyrics but they are perfect! No wonder Ariel melts for Dylan with words like that…and when they are directed at her.

Yes this is novella length but you do still get to know Riptide, the band Dylan is subbing in for to help them and his career. In true Barth fashion you  become attached to the secondary characters as well as the MCs. Jones, the drummer, is hilarious and we can only hope we see more of him. Cam, who we met in The Opposite of Right, is still swoon worthy and hot tempered. And the elusive Jake, the missing member of the band who one can’t help but wonder about the details of his absence.

In our interview with Christi last week she said she planned out this series strategically to be in between release dates but didn’t want to skimp on the reader satisfaction with the Bad Decisions books. Trust me, there is no shortage of satisfaction! Pick up The Reverse of Perfection and you will fall in love with Dylan and Ari and be begging, along with the rest of us, for more of the Riptide band!
