Wolf shifter and park ranger Eric Silver is committed to his job policing spectacular San Isabel National Forest, and he's hot on the scent of some mysterious wolves who are up to no good. When Eric's investigation leads him to cross paths with forester Pepper Grayling, he's fascinated to learn this she-wolf is her pack's leader -- strong, independent, and definitely not looking for a mate.

With unknown dangers on the prowl, Pepper is tempted to give in to her attraction to Eric and align her pack with his. But Pepper's been pursued by many alpha males--all out to take over her pack and gain her hard-won territory--and Eric is a born leader. How does Eric earn the trust of a she-wolf who's been betrayed so often in the past?

Linda's Thoughts:
He was looking down at her with an expression that said he wanted to kiss her. And then he did, his hands framing her face as she leaned against the fridge. The kiss was sweet but quickly turned hotter as she fed into it, wanting this as much as he did. Her response escalated his, and before she knew it, he was rubbing her bare arms while she was running her hand over his gorgeous biceps.

ALPHA WOLF NEED NOT APPLY is an exciting installment in Terry's Silver Wolf and Heart of the Wolf series! Terry's books are always highly entertaining and ALPHA WOLF NEED NOT APPLY is no exception. Even though this book is part of two connected series, it works perfectly well as a standalone if that is your preference. There are interconnected characters, but Terry seamlessly provides whatever background you may need so don't worry at all if you read any of the books in these series out of order.

This is the story of wolf shifter and park ranger Eric Silver and wolf shifter and forester Pepper Grayling. Eric is a member of the Silver Town pack while Pepper is the pack leader of her own pack. Being a female shifter, that leaves her and her pack and her pack's premium land a prize for rogue alphas looking for a ready-made pack they can take over. When Eric meets Pepper, she is actively discouraging one determined and threatening alpha who has declared that she is to be his mate. Therefore, she's not thrilled when Eric shows interest in her as she immediately feels that he's another male wolf she will have to fight off as she can't see herself sharing pack leadership with anyone. But... Eric can't forget her and he isn't giving up.

I really liked both of these characters. They were each alphas and born leaders. Both were environmentally conscious, responsible and caring. In one scene they were each giving a talk to a group of young scouts. I was spellbound by the discussion as I can imagine the scouts were. The chemistry between the two was sizzling. I really, really hoped that they could find a way AND a desire to work together even though they were both alphas.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from this read:

Their kiss was gentle at first, and then she pressed him for more like she'd done before, but this time neither work nor pack members would intrude. His blood sizzled as he touched her lips with his tongue, but she hesitated to open up to him. He backed off just a little, unwilling to let it go. He felt the hesitation in her whole body - the desire there, but the concern too. Then, as if she was ready to throw caution to the wind, she parted her lips and touched her tongue to his. But there was nothing tentative about it.
---

As soon as she was ready for work, she called out to Eric's closed door. "Anything in particular you want for breakfast?"
"Yeah," he said, heading for the door. "But I don't think it's on the menu."
---

His mouth was on hers, the champagne flavoring his tongue and lips, his sexy scent reaching her over the warm, bubbling water. She stroked his arms, loving the feel of his mouth against hers, hot and hungry. Just like hers was, unable to get enough, not wanting to give this up, wanting to kiss him until the sun rose in the morning.

Be forewarned that you may experience cravings for a delicious lobster bisque prepared and served by a sexy wolf-shifter when you read this tale! Here's a short snippet from that scene:

They toasted each other, then after she sipped hers, she ate some of the bisque - creamy, a little buttery, with lots of big chunks of lobster and a hint of garlic. It was so good that she asked him for the recipe. He gave it to her and added," But I'll fix it for you anytime."

Terry can't deliver the hot chef as he's been claimed by our heroine, Pepper Grayling, but Terry did provide the next best thing: the recipe! Just thinking about it makes me hungry! Check it out here: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/47894/special-lobster-bisque.

ALPHA WOLF NEED NOT APPLY is an addictive blend of mystery, action and romance spiced with plenty of humor and danger. I alternated between swooning over the couple's budding romance and holding my breath during particularly treacherous situations. The story certainly kept me riveted through-out. If you enjoy well-written, perfectly paced, solidly plotted paranormal romances featuring sexy shifters, ALPHA WOLF NEED NOT APPLY fits the bill!
