If you're reading this review of the 12th book in the Psy-Changeling series, then I'm going to assume that you have read or have started to read the series and know all about the epic amounts of magic and talent that make up Nalini Sing's books. I know that I have said this several times over the course of the series, but WOW! Heart of Obsidian Blew. Me. Away.
When I began Heart of Obsidian, July of last year, I had just started reading the Psy-Changeling series so was unaware of all the build up and secrecy surrounding this book's release and it's H/h. I hadn't been reading the blurbs for future books anyways because I liked the surprise. Never would I have imagined at the start of the series that one of the coldest, deadliest Psy could melt my heart, but that is exactly what Kaleb Krychek did. Reared by a sadistic mentor, the only light in his life was Sahara Nightstar. Until that light was shuttered. Seven years of searching, and Kaleb is finally reunited with Sahara again, but Sahara has no memory of Kaleb. That doesn't hinder the pull she feels towards him though, and as Kaleb helps her heal from years of abuse, her memories slowly return. But while Saharah and Kaleb becoming closer, the world around them falls farther and farther into chaos.
The heat! The romance! The action! Heart of Obsidian was a phenomenal story, one that ended up being my favorite of the series so far. Kaleb's commitment to Sahara is undeniable, and it will absolutely steal your breath. Mysteries that have intrigued from the start are finally revealed, and the entire series-arc will be turned on it's ear from events that happen in this book. Nalini Singh is a powerhouse in the paranormal romance genre! If you haven't picked up this series yet, you are missing out on an amazing, captivating, entirely immersing world that will grab you and never, ever let you go!
