All this week, Reading Between the Wines is  celebrating those brave men and women who give up so much so that we can have the freedom we do here in the United States, and what better way to honor them then through books? Each day from November 12th - November 16th, we will be featuring military romance books and the authors who write them as well as a few special authors who give back in a big way. Make sure to stop by daily for guest posts, interviews and giveaways from Sara Humphreys, Jeanette Murray, Cindy Gerard, Katie Porter, Marliss Melton, Trish McCallan, Heather Long and Catherine Mann.

And speaking of the fabulous Catherine Mann, she  is one author who knows not only how to pen an excellent military suspense and romance but also all about being part of a military family. I asked her for some help picking a charity to spotlight for this event and she told me about the United Through Reading Military Program. This is a charity through the USO that helps deployed military members read books to their children from overseas by video recording them reading story books from units set up around the world on ships, in tents, on bases, ect. and sending those videos to the children.

I think this is a wonderful cause and perfect for Reading Between the Wines as well as our fellow book bloggers and readers! This is a program that Catherine and her family will be giving to as well for her daughter's own baby shower instead of gifts. Here is a picture of Haley and her husband Joseph who is currently deployed in the Middle East. They are actually expecting the birth of their first child this week and unfortunately Joseph will not be there for that. I would like to wish them both all the best and thank Joseph for his service and Haley for her support.
