Savannah Gentry, now Savi Baker, escaped the torture and degradation forced upon her by a sadistic father for eleven years and has made a safe life for herself and her daughter. When her father threatens her peace of mind—and her daughter's safety—Savi runs to Damián Orlando for protection. Their one day together eight years earlier changed both their lives and resulted in a secret she can no longer hide. But being with Damián reawakens feelings she wants buried—and stirs up an onslaught of disturbing flashbacks that leave her shaken to the core with little hope of ever being a sexual being again.
Damián has his own dragons to fight, but has never forgotten the one perfect day he spent with Savannah in a cave at the beach. He will go to the ends of the earth to protect Savi and her daughter, but can never be the whole man she deserves after a firefight in Iraq. Besides, the trauma of war and resulting PTSD has led him to find his place as the Masters at Arms Club's favorite sadist. Savi needs someone gentle and loving, not the broken man he has become. But he sees that the lifestyle he's come to embrace also can help Savi regain control of her life and sexuality. How can he not help redirect her negative thoughts and actions if she needs him?

Crystal L's Thoughts:

Savannah Gentry, now Savi Baker, is on the run to escape the clutches of a sadistic madman, her father. Except now she has more to worry about than protecting herself. She's got a daughter to protect from him too. Just when she thought life was safe again, that she was out of his clutches and he had no clue about her daughter, one of his creepy henchmen shows up at her home to collect them both. Now she has to run to the last person she thought she'd ever turn to save her daughter before she becomes prey to a monster.

Damián Orlando is a veteran who lost part of his leg in the war. He suffers from PTSD, and struggles in his new reality called life. The one thing that seems to help him get through his nightmares are the memories of a woman, and the perfect day they got to spend together on a beach. He figures he's lost touch of that beautiful woman forever until the day he runs into her again when he has to bring his beloved niece to a counselor to talk about the rape she endured from her father. His niece's counselor ends up being his beautiful Savannah, who seems to want nothing to do with him now. As mush as that hurts him, he figures it's for the best because he's only half a man now anyways. But when Savi come running to him for help, with a precious little girl in her arms, he realizes a few things. Letting Savi go is impossible for him. He's always cared for her and he always will. The second thing he realizes is that little girl is his daughter. So as far as he's concerned, they're both his forever. But to keep them he'll have to find a way to keep them safe from the man Savi ran away from. Her father, who used and abused a little girl until she was broken in so many pieces that she's not sure that she could ever be whole again. Will Damián's love and patience help heal her? Will Damián be able to keep the woman of his dreams and his little girl safe?

Another great book by Kallypso Masters! I wasn't sure who was going to break my heart more, Damián or Savi. Loved reading this happy ending, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too. Four wine glass toast to Damián, Savi, Thousand  Steps beach, and the realization that love really can conquer all.
