ReadingBetweentheWinesBookClub

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends!

How to join in:
-You should run a book blog that features and reviews mostly adult reads, some Y.A.’s are okay but 18 & over adult reads should be your majority.
-Make a separate post for the 18 & Over Book Blogger Follow on your blog.
-Copy the html for the button above and place it at the top of your post.
-List & answer the ‘Question of the Week.’
-Place your name and blog title in the linky below and the url for a direct link to your post
-Visit the other blogs on the list and say 'Hi!' Following each blog is not mandatory but I know it is always appreciated, and if someone comments saying they’re a new follower it’s polite to follow back. J It’s always nice to spread the 18 & Over Book Blogging love!
-Contact me (readingbetweenthewines10 at gmail dot com) with any questions!

As you know, many people and families in the Northeast were affected by Hurricane/Super Storm Sandy and most are still without power. If you don't personally know someone who was affected by this freak storm then you have seen the devastation in the news or on social sites. To help with the relief efforts instead of doing our usual 18 & Over Book Blogger Follow this week I would like to do something a little bit different but I need your help!

I am asking my fellow book blogging friends and authors to donate books and children's books to the families affected by Sandy. I thought, as there is many still without power, that this would be a good way to help pass the time, as well as keep little ones occupied. In many areas Halloween was also canceled, so if you have any extra Halloween goodies or would like to take advantage of the sales this week, this would also be a great way to put a smile on a child's face who wasn't able to celebrate this fun holiday.

I am also including a link below to The American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief if you would like to make a cash donation or a quick and easy way to donate $10.00 to the Red Cross is by texting REDCROSS to 90999 from your mobile phone.

The wonderful Kelly, who some of you might know from dropping in here from time to time, being my super-awesome friend, or from her own blog, Secrets of a Book Lover, will be distributing the items for us.  She was affected by the storm as well in her home state of New Jersey, but thankfully her and her family are safe and only suffered minimal damage and her power is back on. If you would like to donate please click on the Books for Sandy image below and fill out the form. I will then email you to confirm your donation and give you the address of where to send your package to. I know whatever you donate will be truly appreciated! And please help spread the word by re-posting this for the Follow, on your blog, or by making your own post  that includes the form link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGpnVGFnOGtVT1pjcWhzOHlzd2ZMLXc6MQ#gid=0
and then linking up to the Follow below if you would like.
Thank you so much everyone! XOXO

  1. I think this is an excellent idea. I will be going through my kids books tomorrow. Thanks for giving others the opportunity to help where they can.

  3. I put a few books on the form. I'll offer up anyone going to my Half.com store and picking a few books for free as well.
