Fresh from defending her pack in battle, Natalya Stravinsky, a whip-smart werewolf with a lovable neurotic streak, wants a little rest and relaxation. Once an outcast, she’s now eager to rejoin the ranks of her New Jersey pack, and has even gotten a handle on her obsessive urge to hoard holiday ornaments. Yet Nat barely has time to revel in her progress before the next crisis comes howling at her door.Goodreads
Nat’s father has suddenly gone missing, captured by the Russian werewolf mafia. And as Nat steps up to save her dad from a mob boss’s deadly game, two men step in to play another round for her heart: her gorgeous alpha ex-boyfriend, Thorn, and her new flame, the sweetly sensitive wizard Nick. With her life growing more harried by the minute, Nat must stay cool, calm, and collected . . . or else risk losing everything.

Crystal L's Thoughts:
Where can you read a book with paranormal characters suffering from chronic obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety issues, hoarding issues, and panic attacks? Well, right here in a Shawntelle Madison novel of course! Not to mention you've got a sweet as sugar wizard named Nick who's just as nutty as the protagonist Natalya, and he's got a water sprite who plays in his toilet! Throw in a soulful eyed, moody Thorn, the love of Natalya's life that left without a word five years ago, and you've got the remaining bones for a terrific love triangle that started in the first book of this series, Coveted.
What makes the sequel Kept just as good as the first book? Quite a few things actually. You'll once again find a great plot line to the book, with a fantastic support group case of secondary characters. You've still got the bitchy barbie werewolf who's just itching to get her matrimonial claws into Thorn's hide, and rule with him as the alpha couple of their pack. Instead of having to save her brother, like Natalya had to do in Coveted, well this time she's got to save her father. Natalya is also still fighting to not just get her place in the pack back, but also a place in her family. Not to mention that all-seeing-eye of a doctor of hers always seems to know when she's about to break down and buy one of her feel good Christmas ornaments in a moment of relapse. So this book still has Natalya going on assignments to actively battle her compulsive buying and hoarding quirks. Madison once again writes a highly amusing book that will have you in turns shaking your head, itching to slap someone, or poking out your lip in commiseration with Natalya's ups and downs. Not to mention that readers will finally get that answer about who Natalya will end up with: Nick or Thorn. And I'm not spilling it girls, so you'll just have to read it to find out! Great follow up to the first book, and a solid four wine glass toast!
Rating: 4 Wine Glasses!
