Anya Gage has learned that to get anything good in life, you have to work for it. She has no expectations, no dreams.
Then she finds herself at a party where she doesn’t want to be and she meets Knight.
Knight Sebring knows who he is, what he wants and what he likes. And he gets it. But he never expected something as sweet as Anya Gage to wander into his bedroom during a party he did not expect to be having to borrow his phone.
Knight tries to leave Anya to the life she deserves of white picket fences and a man who watches football on Sundays – good, normal and clean. But when Anya comes to his nightclub and finds herself in a situation, he knows someone has to look after her, he can’t fight it anymore and he decides that man will be him.
Knight teaches Anya that, just as with the bad, in life you should also expect the good. And he teaches her this by giving it to her.
But Knight has a dark past and just as he desires Anya for exactly who she is, he fears when she finds out exactly the man he has become and always intends to be, she’ll leave him for good, normal and clean.

Viviana ‘s Review:
A few of my friends kept mentioning “Knight” as well as some of Kristen’s other books. One of my friends enjoyed it so much she gifted me “Knight” with a note that I “had to read it asap”. Wow, a gift and instructions!

There’s a reason why this series is titled “Unfinished Hero”. This isn’t your traditional romance novel where the hero may have some issues, but then love redeems him. No, this is so not Knight! His methods are unconventional. Some are downright illegal actually, but he means well! He’s loyal and protects not only what is his, but what’s important to those that he cares about! He’s really a nice guy; it’s just how he goes about certain things that need some polishing. You will hear from some that have read the novel say “I didn’t agree with how he handled certain things, but I really did like the book” or “I had issues with some of the things he did, but understood where he came from as I got to know him better”. So again, this may not be what you’re used to when we talk about heroes.

This is Kristen’s first venture into Erotica. Though there are some very hot scenes, it’s not a deep dive into erotica. Still, you’ll be fanning yourself at how hot some of those steamy scenes are!! Yes, there is some BDSM in “Knight”, however, it’s rather tame compared to some of the recent novels that have been published. In fact, I believe it’s a truer interpretation of what BDSM really encompasses vs. what many believe it to be based off of their recent reading list. I don’t think it goes overboard. It makes sense to some extent based on how Knight is. He likes to be in control, in his daily life, his work life and his bedroom activities. However, he is straight forward with Anya from the very beginning and allows her to make her choices.

Speaking of Anya…. I didn’t hate her! I actually liked her. Thought she could have been a little more firm with Knight at the beginning and hold her ground, but she wasn’t a ditz or annoying at all. She was a character that I enjoyed getting to know better. What a relief! A heroine, who knew what she wanted, is strong, independent and wasn’t whiny.

Back to Knight. What? The man is YUMMY!! He’s hot and sexy. Smart! Sarcastic, loyal and protective! What’s not to love? You just need to accept him entirely, the good with the bad, and know that he means well. In every relationship, there are compromises, in this case, Knight tells you exactly what he wants and how things need to be. No Games! No questions left unanswered. He tells you straight out.  Refreshing actually!!

Here’s a quote, gives you an idea of what you’ll be getting into (Knight speaking to Anya):

“Wars fought over a face like this,” he murmured like he was talking to himself, my heart stopped beating and his thumbs moved lightly across my cheeks. “A man would work himself into the ground for it, go down to his knees to beg to keep it, endure torture to protect it, take a bullet for it,” his eyes came to mine, “poison his brother to possess a face like this.”
― Kristen Ashley, Knight

Knight is a very intense character and the story between him and Anya is tense at the beginning but they find their rhythm and make things work! Kristen is known for the way she writes her male characters. Straight up Alphas! No apologies!
