Barbara always thought of Ethan as her little brother's annoying best friend, and she was sure he just considered her his friend's nerdy big sister. Until the hot night after her brother's wedding. Alone in the heat, it's clear Ethan sees her in a way she never saw herself: as a sexy, sensual woman. And for the first time, Barbara feels ready to break free from the painful memories that have haunted her for too long—by exploring her passion for Ethan.…Book two of Lauren Hawkeye's Erotic Me series.
Welcome back to Evie's house. It's still the night after the wedding and sweltering hot, making it impossible to sleep (unless you're the old guy or Aunt Mary snoring away in the other rooms).
Barbara got stuck sleeping under the stairs even though it was her little brothers wedding. Being a good sister she was trying to make the best of it, but one can only handle so much sticky heat before loosing it. As she finds herself in the backyard stretching out on a lounger Barbara is surprised by Ethan, her brothers best friend. Barbara's response to Ethan's surprise appearance is to call him a shithead, which perfectly reveals their comfort level with each other and the fact that they practically grew up together.
Ethan is just being himself and acting like a guy, but a guy full of understanding and a clear picture of who Barbara is even if she doesn't know herself. He is exactly what she needs, and as he knows her so well Ethan seems to know that. Things get hotter than the night already is and Ethan's tie is used on Barbara's wrists. After he does some amazing things she asks him to untie her... and he does, very symbolic.
This novella is so much more than just an erotic love story, it is a story of a woman finally pushing herself (with a little help from Ethan) past some deep hurts breaking free of them. Now that is what I call a HEA.
