Halloween Event: Demons - Rosalie Lario (Guest Post & Giveaway)

ReadingBetweentheWinesBookClub
Hi again! How are you all liking Demons so far? I have one last guest for today, please give a warm welcome to a super cool lady and awesome author, Rosalie Lario. Rosalie is the author of the Demons of Infernum series which follow four brothers who are half demon but all smokin hot!

Demon protagonists: love ‘em or hate ‘em, they’re everywhere.

I happen to be a huge fan of demons as heroes, so when I dreamt up my latest paranormal romance series, the DEMONS OF INFERNUM, I instantly knew what I would write about.

The world I’ve created consists of multiple dimensions, with different species of beings on each world. One of the worlds, Infernum, is home to a multitude of demon species. Some are good, some evil, but most fall somewhere in between.

Since I write sexy romance, some of these species have very… let’s say interesting abilities. Here are just a few of them:
  • Avaritia are gorgeous demons whose natural appearance includes red eyes.  They have preternatural strength and are predisposed to desire wealth and power. The four brothers in my series are half avaritia.
  • Haknasa are beautiful demons whose saliva induces a drug-like state of ecstasy.  One of the brothers, Dagan, has quite a run-in with a haknasa in Blood of the Demon (# 1 in the series).
  • Incubus is a gorgeous male demon who feeds off sex. His female counterpart is the succubus.
  • Ishtari are demons who can fly.  The females are beautiful, large-breasted, and very distracting.
Oh, and did I mention that demons have the ability to telepathically communicate with humans in their sleep? It’s called dreamscaping and it makes for some fun and sexy scenes.

In Mark of the Sylph (#2 in the series), half-demon Taeg is desperate to free his pregnant sister-in-law, who is spellbound to an indestructible book that will create an army of the undead. He is convinced that an ancient sword can destroy the book and the spell forever, but this relic has been hidden for a millennia by a powerful glamour. The clock begins to run out on his search when an old rival goes after the book and Taeg’s family in his quest for revenge.
Librarian Maya Flores has a secret: she’s immune to magic and is well aware of the supernatural beings prowling the streets of New York City. Haunted by a brutal demon attack that took her family, she is on a one-woman mission to destroy the evil demons who did it—and any others who get in her way.Maya is Taeg’s best hope for uncovering the sword. Unfortunately, she wants nothing more than to kill him. As he fights for her trust and to save his family, she is forced to face the truth that not all demons are evil. And the worst part? She might be falling in love with one, too.

About the Author:
Rosalie Lario practiced real estate law for several years before
finally admitting to herself negotiating contracts wasn’t nearly as fun as
dreaming up stories. When not writing, she enjoys spending time withgy
her husband and son in their home state of Florida, as well as searching
out things that go bump in the night.

  2. Since I have not read any of Rosalie's books as of yet, I'm not sure if the abilities are only what she has listed or if they have some smaller abilities in the book. I really like the ability of the Succubus and the Haknasa though, also, I think the ability for the demons to read minds would be goo, if they don't already. Very much looking forward to reading this series. I have read another series with Incubus and Succubus demons and loved it.

    Thank you for the giveaway!

  14. Hmm, that's a tough question since all her demons have a sexy way about them. I guess I'd go with charisma so I could sway people to see things my way and some telephathy/mind reading thrown in for fun.

  22. I wanted to drop in to thank Crystal for the invite! If I could be any creature from my world, I think I'd have to go with fae. Not only do they have the ability to instantaneously travel from one spot to another, but they can also charm, and that would rock! If I were to pick a demon subspecies, I think I'd have to go with succubus; it'd be fun to be able to use powers of seduction to get whatever I want, LOL!

Good luck everyone, and thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm loving your responses!

  28. Being a succubus would be good if I didn't actually have to subsist on another person's life force to live. otherwise, I'd be a teleporting fae.
