Author Mertianna Georgia of Syn in the City (Guest Post & Giveaway)

Good morning lovelies! I'd like to welcome author Mertianna Georgia who is joining us today with a fun post about her new release, Syn in the City. She will also be offering a giveaway at the end so stick around!

Mertianna Georgia
First I’d like to say thanks so much, Crystal, for having me on your blog. Today I’m here to talk about my new Urban Fantasy release and the trouble my heroine, Cara, gets into when not one, but three sexy supernatural men vie for her attention.

Syn In the City features Cara Augustine, a witch who’s doesn’t have any powers -- a huge disappointment to her supernatural family.  She’s born on the same day as her two cousins, Evika and Sonya, who are also her best friends.  On their twenty-first birthdays, Evika convinces Cara to go out in San Francisco to celebrate their joint birthday.  In an abrupt change of events, Cara’s powers decide to manifest and they turn out to be the rarest abilities.  Cara is a synemancer, a witch who can draw energy from other supernatural beings to create an immense source of power.  Unfortunately Cara’s power has a mind of its own and attracts a variety of supernatural men to it can grow in strength.  To complicate matters further, Cara’s cousin Evika goes missing the night of their birthday celebration and Cara is now being chased by deadly, demonic creatures.

Syn in the City by Author Mertianna GeorgiaWhat intrigued me about the story, aside from the magic aspect, were the three men drawn to Cara by her power.  They are very different from each in personality, looks, and even nature but the one thing they have in common is their attraction to her:

Roman Balthazar is tall dark and dangerous in way only a Nightkind magician can be.  Nightkinds are vampire-like beings who came to earth from another dimension.  When he discovers Cara he decides they were meant to be together.  Forever.
Tom Hunter is a handsome blond surfer dude and a werewolf.  He thinks Cara is super hot, but finds an innocent flirtation turns into a lifetime bond when he accidently becomes her familiar.
Paul meets Cara on an airplane trip.  Lucky for everyone on board he’s one of the few wizards who can be around modern machinery and not cause it to malfunction.  The auburn-haired British wizard is immediately drawn to Cara and tries to help her control her newfound abilities.

What I like about this heroine is her sense of humor and her resilience, in her words…
“Despite my determination to think about everything later, thoughts swirled in my head.  Maybe I should look at this as my chance to date some guys, as in multiple.  Why did I keep thinking everything was such a disaster?  So some incredible, beautiful men wanted me.  I could think of several women who'd love to be in my shoes.  Yeah, the whole cousin-best-friend-sucked-into-mirror-hell, homicidal monsters, smitten magicians, and accidental familiars put a crimp in the positive side of things, but a girl's got to look at the silver lining, you know?”

So what about you? Would you want to be in Cara’s stiletto heels with three gorgeous men chasing her?  Or is that just too much to handle and you’d rather be a one-man woman?

Everyone who tells me their preference in the comments will be entered to win a copy of my novel, Syn In The City!

  1. Call me boring but I'm a one man kind-of girl. Three men, sounds like too much hassle to me lol I'd rather just stick to day-dreaming about three men chasing after me :P

  2. In my youth I actually did have 3 men I was dating. I would have a lunch date with one, a dinner date with another then an after dinner date with the third. Two actually ran into each other once when one dropped in out of order (how embarrassing). It was fun since I wasn't in the mood to be serious at the time.
    Your book sounds great.

  3. I am really a one-man woman. I am loyal almost to a fault meaning fi I crush, I crush hard and if I fall it is going to be just as hard. Not always a fun thing. However if I get to be Cara, I'm willing to subject myself to the affections of three gorgeous men! I can live vicariously through her stilettos :)

  4. I think it would be fun for a while (and flattering), but in the end, I would rather end up with one man.

  6. I prefer just one guy. Three is way too much effort, coordination and stress! It takes work to build one solid relationship-a relationship with three would likely suffer.

The book sounds awesome-can't wait to check it out.

  7. Thanks for this giveaway.

I think the idea of having a bunch of guys chase after me sounds appealing, but in reality I would much prefer to just have one guy. Less drama.

  12. I wouldn't mind having 3 men chasing me. I think it would be flattering and make you feel real good about yourself. In the end though I would only want 1 man to love. Please enter me in contest. I would love to read this book. Tore923@aol.com

  13. First, a big no to the stilettos. I wear 2' heels maybe once a year, I'd rather be barefoot.

As to the men, having three after me would be great initially, but I'd have to weed one out for a more manageable 2. I'm in no hurry to be in an exclusive relationship so I'd have fun while the going was good with them.

  18. Great comments! My heroine does have trouble juggling her three guys but this is the kind of trouble that's also oh-so-much-fun. Syn In The City is the first in a series so their adventures will continue. Will Cara discover she really is a one-man woman in the end or will she wind up with her own bevy of hunky males? We'll see...
    Thanks!

  19. "The more, the merrier" is what the adventurous side of me would say. But I suppose I'd start feeling guilty very soon and would revert to my loyal, devoted one-man girl ways. So, yes, I would certainly enjoy the attention of three men (especially if one was a vampire, the other a werewolf and the third, a wizard) but I'd ultimately end up with just one guy:)

  28. I definitely wouldn't mind being in Cara's shoes, having three gorgeous men chasing me and vying for my attention. I think it would be fun and interesting in the dating stage. But then if I end up really falling hard for one of them, then I'll be happy just being the one man's woman ;)
