"Who says getting eaten by a shark is a bad thing? ""That Old Black Magic, Book 3"Willa Jameson is having one whopper of an identity crisis. Odd memory flashes that aren't hers. A sultry voice in her head that's obsessed with sex. Even weirder, she finds herself in the jaws of a rogue leviathan, dragged to the bottom of the ocean-and rescued by a hunky..."shark"?The last thing Sheriff Max Truitt expects to find on his daily, deep-Atlantic patrol is a human-especially one who breathes underwater. Compelled to take her home, he waits for the beauty to wake up and reveal her name. Instead he's treated to a punch in the nose, then a sexy romp hot enough to boil water. The next morning, embarrassed by the sizzling, scandalous things the voice in her head drove her to do, Willa slips away. But if there's one thing a determined shark excels at, it's tracking his favorite meal.Solving the mystery that is Willa is no simple task. When they finally unlock a dangerous secret hidden deep in her subconscious, it drives a wedge between them...and puts them in a desperate race against an evil that seeks to rain down a watery Armageddon on all mankind.

Warning: This book does not contain sex with a puffer fish. There's not even sex with a seahorse. However, there's plenty of smoking-hot lovin' with a shark. And even a steamy M/F/M threesome. So slap on your snorkels and swim fins, things are about to get wet and wild.

Missie's Description:

This is an Erotic Paranormal Romance. This is definitely an Adult read only with M/F and M/F/M content. I give the steam factor in this book a 4.5 easily.

The Plot:

The story unfolds as Willa Jameson is honestly beginning to think, that she is going crazy.  She keeps hearing voices in her head that tell her to do things that she would not normally do, and she is having black out spells.  Is someone or Something trying to drive her insane? Maybe kill her?

After the tragic drowning of her mother and father, Willa is completely mortified by water.  She cant stand the thought of getting near it other than taking a shower.  However one night as she is driving back home, a strange voice starts calling her name.   It’s as though someone or something is taking over her body.  She drives to the beach and …...that’s all that she can remember.  She wakes up in a strange bed, with nothing on but her underwear and a gorgeous hunk of a man standing over top of her.  What’s a witch to do?  She punches his lights out, or at least does her best to....dang pervert.
As Shark shifter, Sheriff Max Truitt is on his daily patrol in the Atlantic Ocean when he comes across a leviathan.   He knows they are nasty creatures that usually stay out in the deeper waters. What the hell was it doing here?  After getting a closer look he realizes that it has a woman in its grip, taking her deeper into the depths of the ocean.   He knew the woman was already dead, but he'd make sure that the creature paid the ultimate price for killing her. In his shark form, he quickly goes into battle. Ramming into the leviathan.  Startled by the sudden attack, it drops the woman and Max continues to pummel it, biting it with his razor sharp teeth.  The leviathan gets a lucky punch and knocks Max near the woman. Just as Max is about to finish it off, he realizes that the woman is breathing. Literally. Tiny bubbles are coming from her mouth and her chest is rising and falling. The Creature makes a run for freedom, and Max decides that he had better get the woman to safety.  Who is this beautiful stranger? Was she a shifter?  He quickly decides to take her back to his house and calls his best friend Boone, Seal shifter and vet, to check her out. He gets her home and puts her in his bed. He takes off her clothes to make her more comfortable. That’s when she awakens.  Startled and confused she realizes that she is half naked and hits him with her fist calling him names.  What’s a man to do with a crazy, sexy woman in his bed?  Be a gentleman of course and watch over her as she heals.  She has no memory of how she got in the water and swears that he's the one that’s crazy.  What has he gotten himself into?

Missie's Thoughts:

This book really surprised me.  Not because I really liked it, but because I thought I knew of every shifter out there, and Jodi Redford really threw me a curve ball with the sexy shark. She gets A's from me in the imagination department. I really have to mention the cover on this novel. It is so much more attractive than the last two. It draws you to it and matches the book this time.  It's downright sexy and I love the cover model whoever he is.
Just like her other novels in this series, all the characters were believable. I could feel the confusion surrounding poor Willa. Her helplessness.  I loved her Alpha Male Max.  I could see a much tanned, beach loving, muscled hunk that could drive any woman insane.  Sensually, not mentally.
Just like Jodi's other novels this story is well written. It grabs you from the start and you have to keep flipping those pages as the true plot unfolds, and the bad guys are revealed. It keeps you guessing and holding you captive till the end.  The sexual tension between the lead characters is amazing. Once it starts though, look out.  You will be either blushing like a school girl, fanning yourself, or both. It is wild, hot and extremely steamy. Jodi holds nothing back from her imagination in the bedroom scenes, so if you love Erotic Paranormal Romance, this book is one that I really recommend as a great read.

  1. A shark shifter, that is a new one. I will have to keep this in mind for when a super steamy read will hit the spot.
