Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she’s convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he? As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is—until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love—and protect—her, but will she let him? Chloe vows never to make the mistake of trusting a man again. Only, with every loving look Chase gives her—and every sinfully sweet caress—as the attraction between them sparks and sizzles, she can’t help but wonder if she’s met the only exception. And although Chase didn’t realize his life was going to change forever in an instant, amazingly, he isn’t the least bit interested in fighting that change. Instead, he’s gearing up for a different fight altogether…for Chloe’s heart.

Jolene’s Thoughts:

Chase Sullivan has left his mom's 70th birthday party and is driving in the rain towards his brother's winery in the Napa Valley for a four day photo shoot.  A professional photographer who has traveled the world and is surrounded by beautiful women.  Chase decides he's done being a player and has abstained for the past month.  With his eye on his brother Marcus's head manager Ellen, who he had met briefly, he decides his dry spell is over.  What he didn't expect was Chloe, and the instant magnetic pull he felt towards her.  Stranded, on the side of the road, Chloe Peterson is at her lowest.  Unsure if she could trust the man who pulled over to help her, she can't hide the attraction she feels for him.  Chase feels the need to protect Chloe and takes her to his brother's winery.  What follows over the next four days is a beautiful story of two people falling in love.

I was immediately taken with Chase and loved his character.  He was very patient with Chloe and though he did fight his attraction to her at first, I enjoyed seeing him give in to it and realizing the intensity.  Chloe had a long way to go to healing and part of me thought, that maybe her healing happened to quickly.  Can you really overcome so much in four days?  I have no idea, but I enjoyed her journey.  Chloe fought for her Independence, Chase gave it to her.  Where she felt she couldn't trust and be herself, Chase showed her how.  Once her walls came down, I knew these two belonged together.  I really enjoyed this book and I loved seeing Chloe become more comfortable in her skin.  This was my first Bella Andre read and it won't be my last.  I cannot wait to meet the rest of the Sullivan family and I'm interested to read more about Marcus.  I really feel like he is holding some part of himself back and though we only see him a few times in this story, I'm intrigued with him.

What I loved most about this book, was Bella gave us several intimate scenes between the characters.  In some books I read, I get one and if I'm lucky, two bedroom scenes that the story builds up to in a great explosion of lust.  With this, I had several scenes to experience the characters chemistry and each encounter was different and unique.  I cannot wait to see what's in store for Marcus in book two.

  1. I haven't read these yet so I look forward to them. They sound fabulous and I love the idea of a family group as part of the background.
