ReadingBetweentheWinesBookClub

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends!

How to join in:
-You should run a book blog that features and reviews mostly adult reads, some Y.A.’s are okay but 18 & over adult reads should be your majority.
-Make a separate post for the 18 & Over Book Blogger Follow on your blog.
-Copy the html for the button above and place it at the top of your post.
-List & answer the ‘Question of the Week.’
-Place your name and blog title in the linky below and the url for a direct link to your post
-Visit the other blogs on the list and say 'Hi!' Following each blog is not mandatory but I know it is always appreciated, and if someone comments saying they’re a new follower it’s polite to follow back. J It’s always nice to spread the 18 & Over Book Blogging love!

Question of the Week: Do you, or have you ever, purchased a book solely based on it's cover alone?

My answer: Oh, heck yeah! LoL I'm a shameless cover hussy and unless I am already familiar with the author, received the book for review, or one of my book friends recommended it then my SOP is walking down the romance isle and picking up which ever book catches my eye. And by catching my eye I mean which book has a cover so hot that I blush when I have to go to the underage male clerk to check-out. And if the book is part of a series, I will scan it on GoodReads and search for others in it. Luckily, I've only had one dud out of a whole lot of books purchased by the cover candy method! LoL These are a few of my latest purchases based on the cover's......

Shoot to Thrill (Passion For Danger, #1)Black Jack (Elite Ops, #4)Killer Secrets (Tempting SEALs, #5)

Renegade (Dark Ops, #3)
And this purchase was based on the fact that the cover dude resembles Cole from Charmed. You don't know how many years I have been asking for that DVD set!

And we can't forget my best ever cover hussy purchase.....
The Perfect Play (Play by Play, #1)

So, what about you? Have you ever purchased a book based on the cover alone? Link up below and share your thoughts!

  1. I love Charmed! I bought a couple seasons and my mom bought some others so we have a complete set between the 2 of us. I did however confiscate them for a marathon and never gave them back! Lol!

  2. Oh yah! I am first and foremost influenced by the cover to purchase a new book/author. That's how I found Melissa Mayhue, Karen Ranney and Thea Harrison just to name a few. Once I find a book/author I like they are on auto buy but a book cover will catch my interest and then I have to add a new author to my growing list :-) glittergirl54 at ymail dot com

  7. We hussies have to stick together, lol.
Jaci Burton is the Queen of cover lust lately--she has had MANY lovlies to stare at in her Play-by-Play series....sigh, Jed Hill.

BTW--was Catherine Mann's book good? I haven't read her yet--but Lora Leigh's Elite Ops? GAH---my fave is WildCard....highly suggest that if you haven't gotten to it yet.

Oh I know, Jaci has the best covers, those are books I HAVE to have print versions for!

And I haven't read this one from Catherine Mann yet but I've read Cover Me (another one I purchased because of the cover) and Hot Zone and loved them both.

The only one of Lora's books that I've read so far has been Black Jack and I really liked it, I've heard great things about Wild Card so I will have to pick that one up too!
