Anna Bradley, author of  A Wicked Way to Win an Earl, continues her Sutherland Scandals series with a tantalizing new Regency romance filled with opulence, elegance, and forbidden desire...

Lily Somerset’s plan for the London season is simple: courtship, marriage to a respectable gentleman, then the comfortable existence of a proper Lady. That is, until one tiny misstep leaves Lily on the edge of social ruin, forcing her to depend on a wicked rogue to save her reputation.

Robyn Sutherland doesn’t save reputations—he sullies them. He'd rather be drawn and quartered than find himself spending the season as Lily's escort. But he has no choice but to stay until her tattered standing is mended.

What begins as a ruse to deceive London soon flames into an uncontrollable passion. Robyn calls to the wild spirit that lurks beneath Lily’s prim exterior, and Lily awakens the hero’s heart within Robyn. But can these unlikely lovers trust themselves enough to let desire overrule reason?

Crystal's Thoughts:
Author, Anna Bradley, dazzles with the second installment in her enticing Sutherland Scandals series, A Season of Ruin!

In the first book we were introduced to both the Somerset’s, a once prestigious family in the ton and the Sutherland's, a family struggling to keep their good name. In A Season of Ruin we're reunited with these fun, witty, and oft times scandalous two family's. I loved taking a step back in time with Ms. Bradley's vivid story-telling! From lavish balls, to structured tea times, to duels at dawn, I was whisked away to the Regency era with each new exciting page.

Lily Somerset is looking for stability, security and a good name. Passion and excitement have no place in her plans. But when those plans are turned on their ear by a notorious rogue, and her sister's new brother-in-law, Lily must learn to take a few risks if she ever wants her name out of the scandal sheets. Can she trust Robyn to stick to the new plan, and his word, though when he seems to be continually letting down his own family? And if she can't trust him with that, how could she ever trust him with her heart?

When the world expects the worse from you, why should you give them anything else? Robyn Sutherland always seems to disappoint, so he lives up to his reputation with as much drinking, gambling, and womanizing he can fit in a night, every night. But when his brother's new sister-in-law gets caught in the middle of his scandalous actions, he can't bear to leave her to flounder in front of the ton on her own. Agreeing to be Lyly's escort for the season, Robyn nevertheless let's her down, leaving his best friend, and a possible suitor, to take  up the reigns. Can Robyn let go of his fears and become the man Lily knows he can be before she is lost to him forever?

I really loved seeing Lily loosen up and Robyn get serious as the story progressed, these two were absolutely perfect together! There was definite chemistry between these two from their first encounter, though they fight it with everything they can. The plot was fun and well paced, making this a quick and entertaining read. I can't get enough of this historical romance series from Anna Bradley and am highly anticipating the next book! If you love regency romances, be sure to pick up A Season of Ruin today!
