While the world slumbers in Shadow, a fatal plague has swept through magekind. No one is immune to its ravages, and now that her father is dead, Cari Dolan must wield the fearful magic of her House to save innocent lives.
At the mage Council's bidding, dangerous outsider Mason Stray joins forces with Cari to hunt down the fiend responsible. But can he trust the daughter of wealth and privilege, especially when his own son is at risk?
The princess will always welcome to her bed the warrior, even if one must pay the ultimate price...

Thoughts:

Shadow is restless and there is a deadly sickness sweeping through magekind. It has already killed Cari Dolan's father but some how she was spared. Someone is behind this monstrous disease and Cari must use her daunting magic to track the villain down. But she can't do it alone. Mason Stray, a mage without a House, is cajoled to join the hunt by Kaye Brand (Fire Kissed) in exchange for House protection for his young son. He'd do anything to spare his son from contracting this lethal ailment, even if it means being forced to work with the beautiful but spoiled and haughty head of Dolan house. But with their close proximity comes the revival of a teenage attraction. As the mage houses panic and fight for power, and the humans turn their fear into an uproar, a demented Fae rises from Shadow. Mason and Cari seem to be the only ones capable of saving magekind, but can they save their hearts in the process? Or will they be lost to each other?

Dark and enchanting, Erin Kellison is a master of spinning age-old fairy tales into a powerful and unique story encompassed in the captivating world of ShadowSoul Kissed is the second book in the Shadow Kissed series which is a spin-off from Erin Kellison's riveting Shadow trilogy. Soul Kissed can be read as a stand-alone but there are characters that interconnect. The Shadow trilogy is one of my all-time favorite series so I definitely recommend you reading them if you haven't already.

Soul Kissed was faced paced and filled with danger and suspense. Each page brims with action and passion; you can almost imagine this magic being possible in the real world through the author's intricate story-telling. The relationship between characters are impressionable and believable. I absolutely loved Mason, his dedication and protectiveness, and I cannot wait for book three to see what unfolds next!
