Temptation in a Kilt by Victoria Roberts (Interview/Giveaway)

Temptation in a Kilt (Bad Boys of the Highlands, #1)All you kilt loving Highlander fanatics are in for a treat today. We have debut author Victoria Roberts here to talk about her Bad Boys of the Highlands series! Welcome Victoria!
Victoria: Thank you, Lexi! I’m really excited to be here. Yep, there are a lot of us kilt-loving fanatics.

Lexi: Even though it is nearing the month mark of when Temptation in a Kilt was released, does it still feel like a dream when you get to talk about your book and being a published author?
Victoria: Oh, most definitely. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to this. It’s really hard for me to walk into a bookstore and see my baby on the shelf without my heart being all aflutter. But then I think about how much effort went into this book, and I’m very proud. The characters truly touched my heart, and I hope your readers see that as well. It also makes me feel really great that my family is so full of pride and supportive of my accomplishment.

Lexi: Your book is in print, on shelves (sometimes right beside some well know veteran authors), available for people to buy. You recently got to do a book signing with Nora Roberts; did you refrain from going fan girl on her? Or maybe after you told her you sold out of Temptation in a Kilt you let yourself?
Victoria: Nora Roberts. What can I say? The woman is truly an inspiration. This was a funny story.
Yes, I recently had a book signing with Nora Roberts/JD Robb, Eloisa James, Lora Leigh, Erika Robuck and Maya Banks. Talk about being star-struck! Contrary to popular belief, I was relatively calm (most of the time!) My son wore his kilt and passed out kilt cookies to readers, my daughter sported her Bad Boys of the Highlands t-shirt, and my sister told people outside that her author-sister was in the store signing her first book. And my Dad—well, let’s just say you have that addressed in the next question. My family gave me the confidence I needed to get through the event. After all, I couldn’t act like a bumbling idiot. I had to make them proud.
When I sold out of Temptation in a Kilt, it honestly took all of my willpower not to jump up and down like a daft fool. Instead, I opted for a fist-bump from my son.
After the event was over, I casually walked over to Nora and thanked her profusely for having me. When I told her my debut novel sold out at my first book signing, she said, “I’m really happy for you.” And the wonderful part of that was I knew she really meant it.
My personal favorite had to have been when I said to her, “Oh, and I need to thank you for something else.”
Nora’s expression became puzzled. “And what’s that?”
“Thanks to you, I’m right next to you on the shelf.”
Nora laughed and said, “Glad I could help you out.”

X Marks the Scot (Bad Boys of the Highlands, #2)Lexi: Sounds like an amazing experience, and what a great thing to share with your family! I can tell they are very proud of you. Have they asked to be characters in your books yet? More than your Dad claiming to be the cover model?
Victoria: Gotta love my Dad! He told all of the ladies at the signing he was the cover model on the book and Sourcebooks photo shopped his head. Have you SEEN that cover?
No one has asked to be in the books, but I do tell people not to tick me off. I’m always looking for another Lord Dunnehl or Beathag.

Lexi: Do you find it difficult to find time to work on the second book, X Marks the Scot? I see it has a February release date set, so for those of us (raising hand) that don’t know the inside of the business, does that mean you have book two written yet?
Victoria: That’s a great question! X Marks the Scot is complete and Advanced Reader Copies should be coming soon. I’m currently finishing up Book 3 in the series which is due November 1st. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines…

Lexi: I for one am hoping that you get to write many more in this series, it sounds wonderful! Who can resist a bad boy in a kilt? I know I definitely can't, so there goes two more books I have to add to my TBR list. Until we get news of book three, enjoy your debut, good luck with any more signings you have, and keep dreaming of Scotland!
Victoria: Thanks so much, Lexi. I hope you and your readers enjoy the series as much as I enjoyed writing it. I had a great time!

She’s on her way to safety... It’s a sign of Lady Rosalia Armstrong’s desperation that she’s seeking refuge in a place as rugged and challenging as the Scottish Highlands. She doesn’t care about hardship and discomfort, if only she can become master of her own life. Laird Ciaran MacGregor, however, is completely beyond her control…
He redefines dangerous…

Ciaran MacGregor knows it’s perilous to get
embroiled with a fiery Lowland lass, especially one as headstrong as Rosalia. Having made a rash promise to escort her all the way to Glengarry, now he’s stuck with her, even though she challenges his legendary prowess at every opportunity. When temptation reaches its peak, he’ll be ready to show her who he really is…on and off the battlefield.

  7. Hello Victoria and congratulations on your success with TiaK. I could devour books with Highlanders in them, so I'm really happy that I discovered another author who could potentially take care of my needs. Why do I love Highlanders? I like to think of them spending all their time outdoors training, being prepared to do battle to defend their families. What type of woman would it take to capture such a man's heart? I love discovering that little secret but also watching the hero discover it as well. Thank you for sharing the fun story of your family getting behind you. Your Dad is a hoot! Thank you also for the giveaway!
