Renee's Thoughts:
WOW, is all I can say! This book could have been a lot longer, I wanted it to be a lot longer!

A little bit of a synopsis: The main character was Alison, a senior paralegal at a prominent law firm. Alison's best friend is Brenda, and also the one who introduces her to Rick, the new guy who is a "keeper". Needless to say these two are instantly attracted to each other. Rick is in town from Boston for a high-profile law suit and during that time they begin a very intense love affair. When Rick has to leave after the trial he tells Alison that he will be away for a few days with his two college-aged kids and will make plans for them when he returns. While Rick is away, Alison tries to busy herself catching up with friends and is stunned when she gets a large bonus for Christmas. Excited to plan something nice for her and Rick, Alison's world falls apart when she realizes that Rick has been hiding a huge secret. It doesn't matter what they had, she leaves him. She really falls apart after this and has a major health scare because of it. In order to recuperate she goes to see her parents and soon after, Alison ends up inheriting a ton of money. Still feeling down she concocts a plan for revenge... this point in the book I can relate to Alison. I feel so bad for what she went through and how she took focus off of her career and was emotionally destroyed.

I can't say a lot about the next half of the book without spoiling it. I did gasp a few times with my hand over my mouth when I read it. A bunch of emotion is packed into this one. If you like sexy/romantic thrillers this is for you! Take my advice, it is a page turner. What will leave you breathless? The ending.
