Interview with Thea from Thea Jeanne Designs & a Giveaway!

This month I really wanted to do some guest posts, interviews & guest reviews from fellow bloggers and today I have an old friend, the lovely Thea, over from Thea Jeanne Designs. We are going to mix things up a bit and step away from books & reading for a lil' while today because Thea has some wonderful kids designs that she hand crafts and some smexy adult designs too.

Crystal: Hi Thea & welcome! Can you introduce yourself please and tell us a little about Thea Jeanne Designs?
Thea: Hello my name is Thea and I am a single mother of two. My son 6 and my daughter 4 and I live in bend, OR.  I came up with the name Thea Jeanne Designs because my middle name Jeanne and obviously my first is Thea.
Thea Jeanne Designs offers custom hand made clothing that is unique and personalized to fit you and your child's imaginations.  I make everything from tutus to capes, aprons and all kinds of accessories in between ;-)  I have adult tutus being sold at a  local adult store called Tres Chic, children's aprons, tutu sets and capes being sold at a children's store called Sweet Peas 'n Me in Redmond, OR and I also make costumes for a local dance studio called The Vibe and have a display there as well.

Crystal: How did you get started?
Thea: I started first making stuff when I lived in Florida right after my daughter was born....I was a stay at home mom married at the time and wanted a hobby.  I first started out with scrap booking then moved on to making clothing and accessories.  After I moved back home to Oregon I stopped crafting and went to beauty school and used my artistic ability on hair nails and skin.  After school I still found myself wanting to craft and when my step dad was opening his own business he told me that I could use one of his office spaces and Thea Jeanne Designs was born.  I have had a lot of support from my family and friends and get involved in as many local events as I can to get my stuff out there.

Crystal: What is your biggest inspiration?
Thea: My biggest inspiration would have to be my children....They help me pick out fabrics, embellishments and colors for almost all of my designs.

Crystal: Do you have any advice for amateur crafters out there?
Thea: Hmmm.....That's a hard question cause I still consider myself an amateur lol...but I would have to say that the sky is the limit when crafting there is no right or wrong, whatever your imagination can think of you can turn it into art.

Crystal: Besides handcrafting beautiful tutus & accessories, is there anything else you are passionate about?
Thea: I am passionate about dance, both of my kids are in dance now and they love it. Im so happy that I am able to pass that along and help out the studio as well by making costumes for them.

Crystal: Who is your favorite author or do you have a favorite book?
Thea: I love to read!  I read myself to sleep every night....I don't have a favorite author but i do love to read true crime books and mystery.....But surprisingly one of my favorite books is Eat Pray Love, that women is so inspiring!

Crystal: Where can we find more of Thea Jeanne Designs?
Thea: As I mentioned above I have my stuff in several stores....I also have an etsy shop my user name is the tutufairy9311 and my shop name is Thea Jeanne Designs.  I also sell on ebay my user name there is *Thea*Jeanne*Designs*.  And last but not least you can find me on face book as The Tutu Fairy or my personal profile Thea Lowe;-)

  1. Hey Thea & Crystal! What a neat guestblog idea. :) I love those little tutus and wings sets! I finally had a 2nd kiddo and we got our baby girl last year so I'm looking forward to this kind of girly stuff in the future. I'm adding your etsy shop to my bookmarks.

Oh, and I would have entered the giveaway but the form wasn't working when I tried. Not sure if the link is wrong or what.

  2. Hi Rhianna and thanks for stopping by! =)
Congrats on the baby girl, they are so much fun to dress up. Until they get around 4-5, then they want to dress themselves. =P
I noticed the link for the form wasn't working but I think I fixed it so go ahead and try again. Let me know if there are anymore problems.
    Happy Holidays!
