The Magic Between Us ~ Interview & #Giveaway from Tammy Falkner!

Fairies! Pretty winged fairies! Or the fae. Call them what you may but our guest today sure paints a pretty picture of them. Still not sure, just check out her covers! Welcome Tammy Falkner!

Lexi: Your Faerie series is cute and sweet. A guarantee happy ending. And I love that you mix a little magic with Regency England. What would be your favorite fantasy/paranormal creature to make an appearance in your series?

Tammy:  My favorite has to be the garden gnome, Ronald.  He’s witty, devoted to his family, and he brings all sorts of angst and fun to the pages. (And he gets his own happily-ever-after!)

Lexi: There are so many Regency Romances out there, but very few that also have meddlesome garden gnomes. Everything about the Faerie series is light and fun, except the murders and overall mayhem. But hey, you gotta have a little bad to balance out all the good. Do you have any techniques to keep your books with this light fun feel? Or does it just come naturally, like your bubbly personality?

Tammy:  I don’t think I’ve ever been called bubby.  People who know me are probably falling off their chairs laughing at the thought.  I hope my pages are light and funny.  I can’t seem to stay away from serious topics (like alcoholism in this book), but I still try to keep it upbeat.  Most of that comes from the verbal sparring between characters, though, so I’m not sure if that counts.

Lexi: Ha! Well a first time for everything. The Magic Between Us is book three and gives us Marcus's story, a character we have seen in the previous books. Was he just tapping your shoulder, waiting (impatiently) for you to tell his story and give him some HEA?

Tammy: Yes, I knew who his love interest was when I wrote the first book, and I knew why he would be leaving the land of the fae and the woman he loved, but I had to set him aside until it was his turn.  They do tend to tap on your shoulder while they wait!

Lexi: Marcus and Cecelia deserve some happily ever after. You give us plenty of lighthearted fun, but you also address a serious issue. What made you decide to weave addiction into The Magic Between Us?

Tammy:  When I start a book, I need a reason to keep the hero and heroine apart.  In their case, I kept them apart because of Marcus’s need to satisfy his family, but that separation didn’t last long enough, because Marcus and Cecelia truly were meant to be together.  So, I had to come up with another reason.  Cecelia’s desire to protect her own family fit the bill, and was the counterbalance to Marcus leaving her to begin with.

Lexi: It is amazing the impact one's personal choices have on a family. And commendable of you to bring it to light. But I am still glad you make us smile and laugh. Thanks for stopping by to talk about The Magic Between Us! Congrats on the release Tammy!

Tammy: Thanks so much for letting me stop by and talk about the book!
