“Wiggs’s talent is reflected in her thoroughly believable characters as well as the way she recognizes the importance of family by blood or other ties. Highly recommended.” — Library Journal

"Burning Up" by Susan Andersen

Though it's been years since the infamous Macy O'James stepped foot in Sugarville, Washington, everyone remembers what she supposedly did. The tiny town is still buzzing about her crime and lack of punishment.
Now back to lend her family a hand, Macy vows to hold her head high—especially at her high school reunion. But forget about the hottest man in Sugarville escorting her. Though she and fire chief Gabriel Donovan generate enough sparks to burn down the town, he's a law-abiding, line-toeing straight arrow. So not her type.
But maybe—just maybe—he can change her mind about that.

"Finding Perfect" by Susan Mallery

When Pia O'Brian's best friend dies, Pia expects to inherit her cherished cat. Instead, the woman leaves Pia three frozen embryos. With a disastrous track record in the romance department and the parenting skills of a hamster, Pia doesn't think she's meant for motherhood. But determined to do the right thing, Pia decides to become a single mother. Only to meet a gorgeous, sexy hunk the very same day.
A former foster-care kid now rich beyond his wildest dreams, Raoul Moreno runs a camp for needy children in Fool's Gold, California. But the gambler in him can’t resist when beguiling Annabel Lake proposes a wager. If she wins their card game, he must help save her family’s foundering brewery. But if he wins, she must spend a night in his bed. The outcome sets off a chain of events that threatens to destroy all his plans . . . and unveils the secret Annabel has held for so long. When Jarret discovers the darker reason behind her wager, he forces her into another one—and this time he intends to win not just her body, but her heart.

"Married by Morning" by Lisa Kleypas

For two years, Catherine Marks has been a paid companion to the Hathaway sisters—a pleasant position, with one caveat. Her charges’ older brother, Leo Hathaway, is thoroughly exasperating. Cat can hardly believe that their constant arguing could mask a mutual attraction. But when one quarrel ends in a sudden kiss, Cat is shocked at her powerful response—and even more so when Leo proposes a dangerous liaison.
Leo must marry and produce an heir within a year to save his family home. Catherine’s respectable demeanor hides a secret that would utterly destroy her. But to Leo, Cat is intriguing and infernally tempting, even to a man resolved never to love again. The danger Cat tried to outrun is about to separate them forever—unless two wary lovers can find a way to banish the shadows and give in to their desires…

"Sin Undone" by Larissa Ione

HER TOUCH IS DEADLY As the only female Seminus demon ever born, master assassin Sinead Donnelly is used to being treated like an outcast. She spent decades enslaved, and now vows she'll die before she'll relinquish her freedom again. And she's no stranger: He's bound to her by blood, and the one sexual encounter they shared has left him hungering for her raw sensuality. Worse, Sin is the underworld's most wanted and Con soon learns he's the only one who can help her . . . and that saving her life might mean sacrificing his own.

"Pleasure of a Dark Prince" by Kresley Cole

#1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole enraptures again with this seductive tale of a fierce werewolf prince who will stop at nothing to protect the lovely archer he covets from afar.

THAT LEAD TO A PLEASURE SO WICKED....

"Burning Lamp" by Amanda Quick

In the second novel of the Dreamlight Trilogy, psychic power and passion collide as a legendary curse comes to a burn . . .

Book Review: Amaury’s Hellion by Tina Folsom

Scanguards Vampires
By Tina Folsom

Vampire Amaury LeSang is cursed to feel everybody's emotions like a permanent migraine. The only way to alleviate the pain is through sex. When he meets the feisty human woman Nina, a cure for his ailment seems within reach: in her presence all pain vanishes.
Unfortunately, Nina is out to kill him because she believes he's involved in her brother's death. And she would succeed if only Amaury's bad boy charm didn't play havoc with her hormones and catapulted her into his arms and his bed every time she was near him.
As every kiss brings them physically closer, danger is lurking and threatens to destroy the little trust they have in each other.

Review:
Amaury LeSang works at Scanguards (a successful security and body guard company owned by Samson Woodford) taking care of the real estate side of the business and is Samson’s best friend. He also lives with the painful curse of sensing other’s emotions but never being able to feel love himself. The only cure for the constant onslaught is sex, daily, and it is only a temporary reprieve.  So Amaury has become quiet known in the vampire world for his sexual exploits. And he’s only a little bit arrogant about his expertise. Well, maybe a lot, but it’s well deserved!
Nina is set on revenge for her brother’s death and the vampires at Scanguards will meet the pointy end of her stake for it. That is until she stalks one of them to an alley and ends up passionately kissing the blue-eyed devil! But Nina is one determined little cookie and the scorching attraction she feels for this vampire will not distract her from her goal.
Amuary discovers that when with Nina he is no longer bombarded by other’s emotions, but not only that, she is slowly starting to melt the ice he has around his heart and he is determined to keep her by his side. Unfortunately though Nina has been used too many times by the opposite sex and has little faith in them. But when a vampire from the past shows up and threatens all Amuary holds dear they must trust in each other to overcome the deadly plans he has for them all.

I had planned on waiting to read this book until the New Year so that I could add it to one of my challenges but after reading Sampson’s Lovely Mortal I had to jump right into this one and now I am devouring Gabriel's Mate!

I was intrigued with Amaury from the first book of the series and let me just say that Amaury’s Hellion did not disappoint. Now this is a romance!
Tina really found her groove for the series here. The plot is complex & involved and jammed packed with suspense, action & mystery.
Amuary & Nina have perfect chemistry but the relationship doesn’t come easy for them. He has a tragic past and a painful curse to deal with while she has some well-founded trust issues and a very tough exterior. They both have to learn to let go and trust each other if they are to survive what this villain has planned for them. But Nina is the perfect feisty heroine for the arrogant Amaury and their sparring back and forth was entertaining, the sex scenes mouth watering.
The Scanguards Vampires series is filled with dynamic characters and even the villains are well-developed characters that you feel for.
Amaury’s Hellion was quick paced, had surprise twists, humorous, sexy as hell and thoroughly engaging with such deep emotion that really impacts the reader. Another fabulous read from author Tina Folsom!

Rating: 4 Wine Glasses filled to the brim AND a Snack Tray!

Smexy Scale: Dang, that is spankin' hot!

Warning: Explicit sex scenes, not for the faint of heart. But it sure is fun!

Book Review: Samson's Lovely Mortal by Tina Folsom

Scanguards Vampires
by Tina Folsom

Vampire bachelor Samson can't get it up anymore. Not even his shrink can help him. That changes when the lovely mortal auditor Delilah tumbles into his arms after a seemingly random attack. Suddenly there's nothing wrong with his hydraulics - that is, as long as Delilah is the woman in his arms.
His scruples about taking Delilah to bed vanish when his shrink suggests it's the only way to cure his problem. Thinking all he needs is one night with her; Samson indulges in a night of pleasure and passion.
However, another attack on Delilah and a dead body later, and Samson has his hands full: not only with trying to hide the fact he's a vampire, but also with finding out what secrets Delilah harbors for somebody to want her harm.

Review:
Samson Woodford owns a successful security & bodyguard business called Scaguards and because of his success & wealth (not to mention his dark & sexy good looks) he is one of the most sought after bachelors in the vampire world. After an unpleasant break-up he is left with some male problems, ya’know, down there. You’re going to make me say it? Okay, he’s left impotent. Poor dear.
He even starts seeing a shrink but to no avail. Until his friends decide to throw him a very much un-anticipated birthday party complete with stripper. Needless to say, with his current problem, Samson is not looking forward to it. That is until someone comes crashing through his front door that night and things start looking up. Literally.
Delilah Sheridan is in California on a business trip auditing a company she was contracted for and looking into some financial discrepancies. It’s not a very exciting job but hey, someone’s gotta do it! And she is damn good at it too. On her way home one night she is attacked by a stranger but manages to escape. She starts pounding on the first door she gets to, and isn’t it just her luck. The guy mistakes her for a stripper!

I won this book, and the next two in the series, from Tina’s guest post over at the wonderful Bitten by Paranormal Romance. Thank you ladies!
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started on Samson's Lovely Mortal but boy, what an opener! That first line grabs you and holds on through out the entire book!
Samson's Lovely Mortal is a wonderfully told story with a light & quirky dialogue and well developed characters & relationships. It really reads as a paranormal romance but with mind blowing sex scenes. For reals. The plot is simple but easily holds your attention and flows nicely. Both Samson and Delilah each have their own issues they need to overcome before they can really have a solid relationship and the book covers those and their pasts nicely without getting dull. There is also a host of secondary characters that are just as likeable as the main characters and you’ll be searching for more info on them and upcoming books after finishing this read. Overall a very intimate, enticing and humorous read that doesn’t lack on suspense with a whodunit and is filled to the brim with heart stopping romance and sexual encounters. I definitely recommend!

Right now I should be making cinnamon swirl muffins to bring over to my dad's house but I am procrastinating badly. LoL So what's the plans for the weekend?
For my family, my mom's staying over for a few days and today we are going to my dad's house to open presents and spend time with him, my step-mom, step-sister, mama (grandma), my brother and his girlfriend. And we will be going to a Christmas service at my dad's church this evening. Not sure how that will work with a 3 & 5 year old though, cross your fingers for us!
Then Santa of course will pay a visit tonight and we'll open presents tomorrow morning and my step-daughter and in-laws will be joining us that afternoon. Then we will probably spend the rest of the day taking toys out of their packages and putting stuff together. No plans after that really, maybe go see the Osbourne Lights at the Studios. Relax and enjoy our time together, that kinda stuff.

Whatever you plans are for this holiday weekend I hope each and everyone of you have a magical Christmas and that Santa brings you everything you wanted!

Guest Post with Nanny from Getting Naughty Between the Stacks

Today I have Nanny from Getting Naughty Between the Stacks over with a great guest post. Thank you Nanny for taking the time during this busy holiday week to join us!
If you haven't visited her blog yet make sure to head on over there after the post. She also has a blog called Naughty Mommy Reviews and Junk (warning: she reviews adult toys & talks about her life) And Nanny's Great Outdoors; a hiking & outdoor blog that is family friendly.

First I'd like to thank Crystal for inviting me to post today. I brought a nice bottle of wine to share, hiccup. What's that? Oh my it's open and some’s missing. Oh well I'm never buying from that place again, hic.

I figured I'd talk today about one of my favorite things to read... porn er I mean erotica. Wait what's the difference? Well if you ask my hubs there isn't one. But if you ask any erotic writer there's a huge difference. Erotica is well plotted, has well defined characters, it has emotion and yes, explicit sex. Porn on the other hand is well, just sex. Sometimes not ever well written sex, just insert tab A into slot B and repeat until... well you know. Yet what gets me is that many people lump the two together. You very rarely see someone sitting on the floor in front of the erotic books at your local Borders. If you do it's probably me. I've noticed that at our local bookstore this section keeps getting pushed farther and farther to the back of the store. If anyone is browsing that section they tend to keep their heads down and avoid eye contact like their doing something wrong. Is this just where I live or do people everywhere act like this?
For the most part many erotic novels are just romance, but spicier. Wait... Um no, that's not true. Ero-rom now that's spicy romance, erotics are a whole 'nother ball game. One thing I've noticed is some erotica is just wham-bam thank you ma'ma. I wonder what's the difference there? That would be a well-developed plot, being able to get to know the characters. Sex is sex, but a good story will last with you. It makes you want to read it again and again. It pulls you in and makes you interested, makes you feel something.

That is the difference between erotica and porn, my friends.

Well said Nanny and too true!
Don't forget to head over to Getting Naughty Between the Stacks to check out Nanny's great articles like Amazon Censor? and Are Book Stores Obsolete?, her fabulous reviews, author guest posts and much more!
Thanks again Nanny for stopping by, I hope everyone enjoyed her guest post! Enjoy your Thursday =)
