Predatory: In Still Darkness by Dianne Duvall (Interview/Giveaway)

Lexi: Anyone seen this cover? Creepy golden eye staring into your soul? The cover screams paranormal, crack me open at your own risk. As does our guest today, welcome Dianne Duvall!

Dianne: Thank you, Lexi!  I’m very happy to be here today!

Lexi: The Immortal Guardians has a new installment! A short one, but it still counts when you bring us tempting vampires and some smexing. You did manage to squeeze in some hot loving right?

Dianne: Of course!  How could I not with a handsome, French immortal warrior as the hero?

Lexi: I love your hero’s last name, d'Alençon. Makes me think of a knight.
Speaking of knights, I am still waiting for your Medieval prequel. Any news on the possibility of that being released?

Dianne: Thanks for asking!  Not yet.  I’ve actually been so busy with the other books that I haven’t had a chance to pursue publication for the prequels.  (There’s a medieval and a time travel.)  But I hope to get to them soon.  I think readers would enjoy seeing Seth in historical settings and seeing Marcus (hero of NIGHT REIGNS) as a mortal teenaged squire.  ☺

Lexi: Your series hopefully will have many more releases but the ones currently out have received some great awards and recognition! Do you still get excited when you hear of a new one, or since you have so many do you merely wave your hand and go back to dipping your strawberries in chocolate?

Dianne: Strawberries and chocolate . . . Yum!  ☺
I get excited every time.  I also get excited every time one of my books gets a good review and every time a reader tells me she or he is enjoying the series.  I don’t think I’ll ever not get excited by those things because they’re all part of the dream.

Lexi: Mmm...chocolate, fangs, mesmerizing eyes. I for one will always love a good paranormal vampire story. Do you worry when you hear that vamps are on the way out?

Dianne: No, not at all.  I think vampires in books are like zombies in movies.  There will always be interest in them.  As long as writers keep approaching the vampire romance genre from new angles, putting new spins on it and taking it in new directions, readers like myself will keep reading and enjoying them.  Also, I imagine that every day readers who are new to the genre pick up their first ever vampire romances and lose themselves in the pages as we once did, so the audience should continue to grow.  (I know if I read my first vampire romance yesterday, I would want more, more, more today!)

Lexi: With your series you have nothing to worry about. Congrats on being included in such a fun anthology! Thanks for stopping by Dianne!

Dianne: Thank you!  I was thrilled to be included!  And thank you so much for having me here today!  I always enjoy visiting Reading Between the Wines Book Club.  ☺

  5. I think it is SO COOL that you write paranormal romance very well and you have also written a comedy screen play! In my humble opinion, the best books are written by people who can pull from many different interests/backgrounds (such as paranormal, romance and comedy) and successfully meld them into one story. I can;t wait to read this series!

  23. I agree with Dianne, vamps will always have a following both new and old. Somethings are just too classic and awesome to get snuffed out. Predatory sounds like a great way to check out these 4 authors. I've had Darkness Dawns on my massive TBR/Wishlist for a while and would love to get started on the Immortal Guardians series.
