In Rides Trouble by Julie Ann Walker (Guest Post/Giveaway)

I am super excited (the jumping up and down kind) to welcome a new favorite author of mine that I stalk love who writes some absolutely stellar romantic suspense, Julie Ann Walker, who is joining us with her newest release in the Black Knights Inc. series, In Rides Trouble

Top Ten Reasons Motorcycles are Sexy

A big "what up?" and "how you doin'?" to all you romantic suspense fans out there!  I'm Julie Ann Walker, and I'm happy to be here today on Reading Between the Wines, talking about why motorcycles are so darned sexy.

Why am I  an authority on this, you ask?  Well, because my new romantic suspense series, Black Knights Inc., features ex-military men who've banded together to form a private government defense firm that operates under the guise of a custom motorcycle shop.  And, baby, let me tell you, these guys are hot, hot, hot! And so are their custom-made Harleys!

So... without further ado, the top ten reasons motorcycles are sexy:

10.) Chrome.  Shiny, sparkly, delicious chrome.  Chrome so clear you can see your reflection in it.  So bright it glints like diamonds in the sun.  And what woman doesn't love diamonds...?

9.)  A wonderfully engineered V-Twin Engine.  It revs.  It roars.  It... vibrates?  Hmm.  I'm liking the sound of that!  The engine, not the vibrating!  Get your heads out of the gutter!

8.)  The freedom of the open road.  The wind in your face.  The great American countryside sweeping by you on both sides.  All your cares left in your dust...  Now, if that doesn't get your motor running, I don't know what does!

7.)  Biker Boots.  I mean, come on!  Is there anything that says, "this is a man who can handle anything, take all comers," like a good pair of biker boots?  I think not!  Unless it's number six...

6.)  Leather Jackets.  They're warm, they're sexy, they retain the scent of the man who wears them... Yeah, I could definitely handle having one of these shrugged off a set of broad shoulders and wrapped around me on a cool night.

5.)  Dual Exhausts.  It's that rumble you feel in your gut.  That sound of rolling thunder.  That bone-shaking music that lets you know a total badass is near...

4.)  Tattoos.  Now I don't know about you guys, but a good tattoo on a muscular arm really revs my engine!  Tattoos scream REBEL!  Which leads us to number three...

3.)  That rebel spirit.  A man who lives by his own rules and fights for what he believes in. So hot... at least in my book... er... books?

2.)  Fantastical Designs.  Custom motorcycles are works of art.  And art, especially when it comes with bright paint, sparkly chrome, and the ability to rattle all the teeth in your head, is a total turn-on!

And the number one reason motorcycles are sexy.... Drum roll, please...

1.)  Because they're ridden by bad boys!  And who doesn't love a bad boy, especially when underneath his gruff exterior lies a heart as big and beautiful as a custom-made Harley?

Thanks to Reading Between the Wines for having me on.  Now everybody go grab a glass of vino and relax with a book that features men who pose as grease-monkey motorcycle mechanics by day, but who are, in fact, Uncle Sam's last resort by night.  (I could point you in the right direction if you're having trouble finding that kind of book.)  Cheers!

Black Knights Inc.—Behind the facade of their tricked–out motorcycle shop is an elite special ops team assigned the jobs too hot for anyone else to handle.
Rebel With A Cause...Becky "Rebel" Reichert never actually goes looking for trouble. It just has a tendency to find her. Like the day Frank Knight showed up at her door, wanting to use her motorcycle shop as a cover for his elite special ops team. But Becky prides herself on being able to hang with the big boys - she can weld, drive, and shoot just as well as any of them.
Man With A Mission...Munitions, missiles, and mayhem are Frank's way of life. The last thing the ex-SEAL wants if for one brash blonde to come within fifty feet of anything that goes boom. Yet it's just his rotten luck when she ends up in a hostage situation at sea. Come hell or high water, he will get her back - whether she says she needs him or not.

Deep in the heart of the Windy City, three things can be found at Julie Ann Walker’s fingertips: a keyboard, a carafe of coffee, and a sleepy yellow Labrador retriever.  They, along with her ever-patient husband, keep her grounded as her imagination flies high. Look for the first and third books in her fast-paced series: Hell On Wheels (August 2012) and Rev It Up (October 2012). 1. Great top 10 list! I especially support dual exhausts and tattoos.

  2. I love motorcycles! And I'm w/ you on the reving, roaring, vibrating engines Juli Anne ;) I'm actually a fan of the Hayabusa's by Suzuki though.. Oh I do love a hunk in a Harley, but there's something about the Hayabusa's that call my name ;) Reasons? I believe it's the adrenaline rush you get from being in the open road, the only metal happens to be under you, and the freedom you get from feeling the wind in your face! And can I just say that my guilty pleasure is the sexxxy a** men riding the motorcycles ? ;)

  3. Motorcycles are soooo sexy! I love the chrome and the V-twin engines. Also, having a hot, bad boy riding it doesn't hurt.

  6. I think you about hit all the reasons why I think motorcycles are sexy...I'm going for the open road experience, even more freedom that a convertable. You really get to experience the scenery as you are part of it. Oh, and let us not forget those sexy rebels propelling said vibrating cycles in front of us that we get to hang on to for dear life ;-).

  7. I do find them sexy, but I'm also apprehensive about them.

  8. Well I can't honestly say that I find a motorcycle any more sexy than I do a good powerful stock car and I grew up riding in/on both. But what I love about motorcycles is the feeling of harnessed power directly beneath you and that euphoric feeling when you open it up out on the open rode (yep, had a thing for a guy with a bike).

The book sounds like a fun read and I look forward to reading it.
    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  9. I've loved motorcycles since my teen years. Back then it was my dream to always own a Harley(never got one)but I still watch them when they ride by and still think they are sexy. Your top 10 is perfect.

My husband has one and it is a lot of fun to ride the curvy roads of Iowa and Wisconsin especially in the fall. It is relaxing to ride and enjoy the scenery.

  23. Oh yeah. motorcycles are sexy. One of my first boyfriends had a Harley, biker boots, leather jacket and a broad set of shoulders to lean on when we rode. :)
The revving alone and all the male power behind it is another reason. Thanks for the chance.
