He wants her more than his next breath.

With rumors swirling and the pack in danger, James Olsen accompanies his Alpha pair to an Emergency pack circle called by the Council. To ensure the safety of his Alpha’s mate he’s forced to work with the Guard, the Council’s version of law enforcement.
James can’t deny the incendiary attraction to the beautiful but deadly she-wolf, Selena Burrows—a member of the Guard and a woman he’s forbidden to touch.

But he’s the last male she can have.

The last thing Selena wants to do is work with a potentially hostile pack. Tasked with keeping the Alpha female, Ria safe to avoid a civil war she becomes Ria’s shadow. Embedded in Central Florida Pack, Selena fights her attraction for the pack second while investigating the threats. Their one night stand turns into more—but permanence is the last thing Selena is permitted to have. If she doesn't walk away, she risks both their lives.

Linda's Thoughts:
If you wanted pomp and circumstance, you dealt with the vampires. If you wanted ceremony, the witches it was. But for plain old straight forward business, you dealt with the werewolves.

Full Force by Chudney Thomas is the second installment in her intriguing Central Florida Pack wolf-shifter series. It is a relatively short read, but each page packs a punch! It has been a while – October 2014 - since I’d read Full Circle, the first book in this series, and it did take me a few chapters to get back into the groove with Chudney’s paranormal urban fantasy world of werewolves, vampires and witches. In hindsight, I should have gone back and re-read Full Circle beforehand to refresh my memory as I struggled to catch up the first few chapters of Full Force. That said, once I got past those first few chapters, the story stands on its own from there.

This is the story of werewolves James Olsen and Selena Burrows. James is Drake’s best friend and an alpha who has made the choice to be second to Drake and support Drake’s Central Florida Pack instead of breaking off to head his own pack. Both Drake Neilson and his mate, Ria, the hero and heroine from the first book, return to play strong supporting roles in Full Force.

Wolf politics takes center stage as the story begins. Selena has been assigned what she unhappily calls “babysitting duty” of Alpha Drake Neilson and his mate while they attend a Council meeting in Atlanta. The Neilsons’ mating was controversial in the first book and remains divisive with the paranormals. As the author wrote: “Some at this circle objected to Ria’s presence. Some objected to her very existence.” Amidst all the posturing, there will also be a showdown with Drake facing Angel, the Arizona Alpha who was responsible for the attempt made in the last book on Drake’s mate.

I really liked both the hero and the heroine of Full Force. James is an alpha, smart and sexy. He has not been able to forget Selena, a “tall, lithe and beautiful” fiery redhead, since he first caught sight of her auburn hair and his wolf recognized her as his mate - even though she is off-limits to him. Selena is a member of the Guard – and forbidden to mate. In fact, mating for Guard members is punishable by death. Their chemistry is off-the-chart. Their journey to committing to a relationship is a captivating one.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Full Force:

“Is the werewolf community so afraid of one little half human?”
---

She was a woman without a family. A woman without a pack. A woman alone.
---

James’ fingers brushed her cheek. “You can run, or you can see this through to the end. Whatever that end might be.”
---

He leaned his forehead against hers. “Tell me you want this.”
---

“I can’t sleep without you by my side.”

I would recommend that you read this series in order. Even though the romantic relationship is fully contained within this novel, developments, including the initiation of the danger plot featured in Full Force, originated in Full Circle. Full Circle was a four-star read for me and introduced the Pack, the politics and many of the characters. Do yourself a favor and pick it up first! I just checked and both the kindle and nook editions of Full Circle are available for under a dollar at Amazon and B&N!

I can’t wait to read Full Throttle scheduled to be released this fall! Not only do I want to follow James and Selena’s story and how it will pan out with the Guard, the next book will feature Thomas’ and Annika’s story! Thomas is Selena’s boss and head of the Council’s Guard. Annika is a human and a seer! Thomas knows she’s his mate; but, Annika doesn’t know. It should be another interesting read!

Suggested Reading Order:
Full Circle (Book #1)
Full Force (Book #2)
Full Throttle (Book #3) – coming September 2017!
