Character Love Letters: SEDUCTION OF A HIGHLAND WARRIOR By Sue-Ellen Welfonder & THE CHIEFTAIN by Margaret Mallory (Letter/Giveaway)

And now we have several very special guests joining us with two love letters sent by our heroines of the story!

Character Love Letter ~ Marjory (aka Lady Norn) to Alasdair

It’s such a treat to be here and to have an opportunity for Marjory aka Lady Norn, the heroine of Seduction of a Highland Warrior, to clarify a matter of great importance to her: namely, her deep and abiding love for Alasdair MacDonald, her hero.

Marjory is most appreciative.  And she sends her especial thanks to Lady Crystal for giving her a selection of fine parchment, a horn of ink, and a lovely goose quill to pen her feelings.  She’s also grateful for the quiet window alcove to sit and gather her thoughts, and the thoughtfully-provided oil lamp should she still be writing after nightfall.

Now, she is giving me a look of annoyance because I’m hovering.  So I’ll step aside and let you peer over her shoulder instead…

Crystal, (Sue-Ellen aka Lady Scribe here), had I known Marjory would rail against the strictures of being a romance novel heroine, I’d have declined today’s appearance.  She is madly in love with Alasdair, so I understand her annoyance at having to wait so long for their happy ending.

Despite her fussing, I’m delighted to be here today.  Thank you again for inviting me.

Highland Blessings!
Sue-Ellen Welfonder

By Sue-Ellen Welfonder
Publisher: Forever Mass Market
ISBN-13: 978-0-446-56179-2
$7.99; January 29, 2013
In SEDUCTION O F A HIGHLAND WARRIOR, Sue-Ellen Welfonder delivers the stunning conclusion to her sensual Highland Warriors trilogy.
At the King’s request, chieftain Alasdair MacDonald has sworn to preserve the peace in the Glen of Many Legends. Though he’s handsome and fearless, his warrior’s heart belongs only to his beloved land—until the fair sister of his oldest enemy shatters his defenses, branding his skin with a single touch, and sealing his fate with one stolen kiss…
Lady Marjory Mackintosh will do anything to unite the warring clans, even seduce Alasdair Macdonald. She has loved the rugged Highlander since she first saw him and now, as temptation leads to surrender, Marjory dares to possess him, body and soul. But a dangerous new menace enters the Glen, and he will stop at nothing to strip Alasdair of his honor—and the only woman who can claim his heart.
About the Author
Sue-Ellen Welfonder is a Scotophile whose burning wish to make frequent trips to the land of her dreams led her to a twenty-year career with the airlines. Now a full-time writer, she’s quick to admit that she much prefers wielding a pen to pushing tea and coffee.  She makes annual visits to Scotland, insisting they are a necessity, as each trip gives her inspiration for new books. In addition to Scotland, her greatest passions are medieval history, the paranormal, and dogs. She never watches television, loves haggis, and writes at a 450-year-old desk that once stood in a Bavarian castle. Sue-Ellen is married and currently resides with her husband and Jack Russell terrier in Florida.

And now we have a letter from Margaret Mallory's heroine from her upcoming release, The Chieftain!

THE CHIEFTAIN by Margaret Mallory
Publisher: Forever Mass Market
ISBN-13: 9780446583114
$7.99; February 26, 2013
In THE CHIEFTAIN, Margaret Mallory pens her last tale in the seductive Scottish series Return of the Highlanders.
Connor, chieftain of the MacDonalds of Sleat, holds the fate of his people in his hands. Rival clans are plotting to take over his lands, and duty determines whom he will fight, trust . . . even marry. Seeking guidance, Connor turns to Ilysa,  a young lass with the gift of foresight, who reveals an approaching danger-and a passion that burns only for him. But the warrior must make a powerful marriage alliance, and Ilysa's bloodline is far too humble.

With her powers to heal and see evil where others cannot, beautiful Ilysa dresses plainly, speaks softly, and loves her chieftain from afar. Yet when Connor finally stokes the embers of desire that have so long burned within her, Ilysa feels bliss unlike any she's ever known. Now as he is forced to place duty before happiness, Ilysa senses Connor is in grave peril. Can she find a way to prove she is the woman he needs by his side?

About the Author
Margaret Mallory abandoned a career as a lawyer to become a romance novelist. Why this surprised everyone, she doesn't know. Who wouldn't rather have thrilling adventures with handsome Highlanders than write briefs and memos? Margaret lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, a goofy dog, and a crabby cat. With her children off to college, she spends most of her time working on her next book in The Return of the Highlanders series. Margaret loves to hear from readers.

Oh Sue-Ellen you have one hot tempered heroine on your hands. Good thing you were finally able to give her a happily ever after, or she might have rivaled her Scottish hero in bloodlust...yours!

Sue-Ellen, you know my heart and how I feel about your books. :) Sending you (((HUGS))).

Margaret, I have found a new favorite author in you with The Chieftain. There are only a handful who can pick me right up and plop me right down in medieval Scotland where my soul aches to be. I thank you for that.

Margaret Mallory said...

Thanks for the great feature--even if writing that latter made me cry. Cheryl, I obviously have a series weakness for Highlanders too! Leah, thanks for the lovely comment. :)

I'm working on a new Scottish Historical series, THE DOUGLAS LEGACY, which will also be set in the 16 century, but a few years later than THE RETURN OF THE HIGHLANDERS. It will months before the first book is out. For news about it, you can sign up for my newsletter (from my website) or follow me on Facebook or Twitter. Thanks for asking, Maris!

I love historical romances and Scotland seems to breed some of the most swoon worthy stories. It most be something in the air or soil:). Both these stories sound absolutely divine. I've had the Return of The Return of the Highlanders on on my wish list for a while now but Sue-Ellen Welfonder is a 'new-to'me' author. Thanks or sharing those wonderful letters.
